Checked into a room that is about 150 steps from lift, and found some white hairs from previous guest in the bathroom floor. Called reception and told cleaner had gone home and they were busy and will clean it later, but after waiting for 1 hour, I told them not to bother. They promised to tell cleaner to clean it... More

Stayed here as it was convenient for Flower and Garden Show in Carlton. Unfortunately I left a brand new pair of pyjamas in the room when I left, I realised as soon as I got home later that afternoon, rang hotel and receptionist said she would check with housekeeping. Hadnt heard by late next day, so rang again, to be... More

Stayed in the hotel for 4 days over Easter. Despite there being written warnings about smoking in the rooms there was an overpowering smell of tobacco in the room the whole 4 days, to the point that our clothes smelt like tobacco after leaving. There were a few other small things like the remote control not working and the cleaning... More

I stayed at the Central Sky Lounge last weekend with my partner, we were in Melbourne for a wedding and thought the Sky Lounge would be a nice little getaway. Upon arrival, we went up to our room. I wanted a shower before heading out for dinner, the bathroom had not been cleaned since the last guest. There was soap... More

Booked deluxe studio but were moved into open plan studio on top floor. I hadn't realised some of the units were residential and maybe not the safest area but about ten mins walk to centre which was good. Room was not cleaned to a good standard. Bed was made up daily but nothing else. Breakfast was just ok could definitely... More

Stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is not fancy - it's more a business hotel with small but very functional rooms and a small lobby. The rooms were clean and we had a great view over the city. We weren't expecting much by way of breakfast but were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The scrambled eggs... More

We were looking for some cheap accommodation for a few days, as we knew we would not spend much time in our room. That's what we found. The room was clean. The location was pretty good with the markets being right there, so coffee and snacks were easy. Public transport was easy to access, staff were very friendly, stored our... More

Melbourne Central Sky Lounge stinks. Literally. The first thing I noticed yesterday when I opened the door to my "studio apartment" (after being ignored at reception for a few minutes) was a strong whiff of cheap and nasty perfume. Presumably air freshener of some sort; as I sit here typing next to my open window my nose is running from... More

This was recommended by conference organisers as a good place to stay, central to RMIT and the Vic Markets, among other attractions. The hotel itself is nicely appointed, neat and tidy and a good place to base yourself if not wanting to spend too much time in your room. The staff on duty when I was there were helpful and... More

The Central Sky Lounge Apartment Hotel isn't the fanciest of accommodations, but it's pretty decent if you're on a budget. It's nearly across the street from Victoria Market, but it's quite a walk from Federation Square and the Bourke Street Mall area. The free city tram and bus are walking distance away, however. The rooms are clean and an OK... More
