Prompt and helpful response to emergency situations. The flight of Jetstar from Sydney to Cairns was firstly delayed and later cancelled. We were supposed to arrive Cairns at 12pm but end up arrive at 10:30 pm. The owner of the lodge helped us to book shuttle service that runs at night. Professional advice on local tours. The owner of the... More

I stayed here for one night in a dormitory room with 4 beds, but because there were no other guests, I had all the space to myself. Great for privacy, bad for socializing. The room itself was well-equipped, with air conditioning, ceiling fan, fridge, iPod dock (I've never seen this in other YHA's), and ensuite bathroom. There's a sign saying... More

Stayed for 5 nights and nothing negative to say. Friendly and helpful staff made my stay really great, nothing was too much trouble and they had loads of good local knowledge. The room was large, clean and equipped with fridge, large tv and docking station for my iPhone. The free Internet worked perfectly. Great location with only 10 mins to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights over new years 2012. It is definitely budget accommodation. The staff are great, really friendly lady at the front desk. The rooms are very old and worn. The beds are very uncomfortable as are the pillows. The little sitting area out the back of our room wasn't undercover, so you couldn't sit out there... More

We're 30 something backpackers who are hostelling but sometimes paying a few dollars extra for privacy, and this place was great. The new managers are making a huge effort with it. Room has fridge in it for those things you don't want communal. There's free wifi provided (a rarity in YHA), a TV room, bar/bistro and pool. We self catered... More

Very good place to stay if youre on a budget and also care for the environment. Great Location being a short walk from Port Douglas centre and four mile beach, so quiet for that all- important sleep. Staff were very accomodating & even helped me when locked out, even though the lady was off duty. The bar/bistro is of a... More

The bistro had great food and made up something on request. The staff were very friendly and helpful...beautifully made coffees.
