I stayed in Sydney for three nights, and although there are things about this hotel that are three-star (circa 1940 faucets/taps and plastic chairs being two), the staff were friendly and efficient, and the bed in my room was far and away the most comfortable bed I've had in many years of traveling. Good location, too -- only a half-block... More

We stayed in Sydney for 2 nights prior to a cruise and the Travelodge Phillip Street was perfect for our needs. The location is great. We were able to take the train from the airport ($15.60 AUD) and get off at St. James stop. The hotel is just a short 2 block walk from there. It is also a short... More

Had a great stay here, it was right in the middle of everything we needed to do in Sydney. A short walk to the Opera House and Circular Quay and just round the corner from Martin Place. The receptionist on the day we checked in was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The room itself was clean and quiet... More

As many others have commented - Sydney CBD is an expensive place to stay - and finding good value for money places to stay can be difficult. I booked this Travelodge about 3 months before travelling - and dropped them an email advising of possible early morning arrival and quiet room request. The hotel also has a breakfast/cafe room, a... I have given an excellent rating because this hotel is value for money, and has excellent location. As usual the staff were helpful and courteous, and the bed comfortable. We asked for a room near the lift and this resulted in us having a room suitable for the disabled. Bathroom is large and well appointed for the wheelchair bound. We... More

Sydney CBD is an expensive place to stay but at $150/night the Travelodge Phillip Street is a centrally located option that we would use again. The room is small and contained average but clean furnishings including a small kitchenette (microwave only). We had a small problem with the television that the staff fixed quickly and we received good service throughout... More

Nothing special. Small rooms, small TV, no fresh air and questionable air conditioner... But clean, awesomely central, and great price! The staff are incredibly helpful and the associated gym (in the leagues club) is brilliant. I would totally stay here again because for the price you get more than you think.

As I said in my title above, the Travelodge Philip Street Hotel is a good place to stay. It's great value for money and very sufficient. You will find no need to go to a more expensive hotel. Although Philip Street is boring with no real attractions (for me that's a plus when booking hotels) this hotel is very close... More
