I stayed in the Jackaroo Hostel twice during my stay in Australia and can’t wait to go back. The location is just perfect if you like to go sightseeing, go out and meet people or hang out on one of the beautiful beaches. It’s next to the Kings cross station where you have supermarkets, restaurants, bars and nightclubs around. The... More

My personal experience of Jackaroo was a positive one resulting in me staying there for 8 months Location is excellent as the hostel is next door to a main train station, has various bus stops near by and there are plenty of shops, supermarkets, bars and the city centre are within walking distance. Living in Kings Cross didn't bother me... More

This hostel by far is the most memorable place I have stayed in my travels. It was by sheer luck that I ended up here, but I am so glad I did. The hostel itself is amazing, but it's the owners and staff that really make this place top the list. They know exactly what backpackers are looking for and... More

This place is wicked. I intended to stay in Sydney for only a couple of months, but ended up there for just over 6, in no small part due to the Jackaroo. The place is extremely well looked after and clean, has lots of facilities, and has plenty of stuff for you to do. Every day there are activities for... More

There is no place like home but the Jackaroo is pretty close ! I spent almost two months there and I definitely recommend this hostel to any travelers. First of all, the reception is excellent and everyone working there (Raquel, Rob, Jade, Tom, Sarah,...) makes you feel comfortable and satisfied. Secondly the price is very reasonable for the location and... More

This hostel is amazing. The stuff is really friendly and helps you out with whatever you need. You get free breakfast and free internet access. Some of the rooms are a bit small but there's plenty of space to hang out in the reception area where you can meet many cool people so you just need your room to sleep... More

The Jackaroo was my first stop in Australia as a traveller from Ireland. I was wary of staying in a hostel beforehand, especially one in the big bad "Cross" but I knew I had to experience the true Australian backpacking lifestyle. And I couldn't have picked a better place to start! Free Wifi, Free Breakfast, Fantastic location (next to a... More

I stayed in Sydney twice during my time in OZ and I was really happy once I had discovered the Jackaroo Hostel. I had a really great time there! Rob and Jade, the owner of the Jackaroo just put so much effort and passion in the hostel that it is impossible not to feel comfortable there. Also the staff is... More

Firstly I would like to say I am very surprised with some of the negative comments about this hostel, as I found it to be a very welcoming and very friendly place to stay in an ideal location and very good value for money. There is free Wifi and as a traveller many of you will know this is unheard... More
