we recently stayed at the Waldorf Canberra for a family get to gether. The location is fantastic (being able to walk to the city for dinner and drinks, to shop and to look around) and while to rooms are adequate, they were very tired, not as clean as could be and were pretty expensive. The photos on the web site... More

I agree with many of the other reviewers. It is a rather tired hotel, and there is a strong smell of smoke everywhere (which is probably due to the fact that there are permanent tenants there that are allowed to smoke since they live there). However, the location is great, the studios are larger than average, and the kitchen facilities... More

I've been staying here for work for the last 18 months or so. The rooms are all well appointed and have most things that one wants when one is in a city for work for days at a time. The position is well situation to services in the city and the staff are friendly.

For Canberra, $120 in the CBD for a older but comfy studio with kitchenette and washing machine and dryer including continental breakfast. It's pretty good value. It is a bit old and tired and some of the permanent tenants are a bit noisy and dodgy. But hey, it's cheap.

We were in Canberra for a few days to see the sights. The Waldorf is situated in the CBD which provides easy driving access to the attractions, plus having good cafes and restaurants within walking for evening meals. The rooms are on the smaller side, though the king size bed was excellent. The first night we left our windows partly... More

Canberra seems to have a shortage of available hotel rooms, based on the prices and availability I have experienced on my trips there. The waldorf was full on the night that I stayed, which I found surprising given price paid and the quality of the room, fixtures and furnishings. Pluses: -apartment style, so if you wanted to self cater or... More

The waldorf in canberra touts itself as a non smoking hotel, but the gym and balcony areas are littered with cigarette butts and the smell of smoke wafts into the gym. Not what I want when I am trying to be healthy. There are no 'no smoking' signs anywhere, and when I mentioned this to the staff at reception, they... More

Apartments are centrally located, basically comfortable-overpriced and dysfunctional wi-fe. Booking and arrival service is atrocious. We had a large group booking which we made six weeks in advance. We had to make amendments several times with arrival and departure dates. They ignored these and kept sticking to the original booking - confusing names, dates and agreed room tariffs. Even the... i booked two rooms for a hen's weekend, when one of these rooms was not as described, hotel staff were quick to fix the issue and even upgraded the room for no extra cost. Over the 3 days of the trip, the staff were extremely helpful and more than pleasant. I would, and have, recommended the waldorf to my friends.

Stayed last weekend for a girls weekend away.. We had 2 two bedroom apartments, which were very pleasant. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom..( 2 bathrooms would have been great for 4/5 people to share). Just soap only provided in the bathrooms, no shampoos or other items that are usually provided. Lovely kitchen, which came in handy. Only 1/2 roll of loo... More
