“Not up to international BW standards”

Our experience has shown that Best Western properties outside of the US can be exceptionally comfortable and commodious for the price, a real value. Not this one. James, thanks for the review. We are very proudly Best Western and also proudly a 3+ star Motel. We always pass quality reviews, and easily exceed those standards. I am sorry you found the AC difficult to operate. That is very unusual as it is normally just on/off and it is preset to optimum temperature which you may then adjust.... More

We've stayed at the Motel Monaro on a number of occasions and find it a particularly refreshing experience every time.Staff retention is very noticeable with most being longtime employees whose friendliness & attention to detail reflect contentment not often encountered in most workplaces. Thanks for a great stay!

Being an older property, even though now fully renovated, has some limitation on room size but it should not detract fom honest friendly service which is what we try very hard to add. “Nice, clean, comfortable, and great service!”

I stayed here overnight just before the running festival. Staff were great in accommodating my needs and timings for the stay. Thanks everyone. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Had a good and restful sleep. No complaints from me. Worth the money...

Our property is around 50 years old but the recent renvation has allowed us to include some quality items (new showers are a hit) and extras (like microwave, crockery and cutlery). “Comfy beds ample facilities in motel room”

The family room we were accommodated in at short notice sleeps 4 and would be great for a family of 4 out and about the town. Beds comfortable, bathroom well appointed. Crockery and cutlery available to aid civilised snack consumption, toasting and microwaving. Great staff who know how to offer hospitality without overwhelming!

“Great stay & close to manuka oval”

Stayed 1 night for the cricket. Room was clean. Bathroom a little cramped but not a huge problem. Room was well appointed everything worked and was quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely would come back here to stay if I was to come back to Canberra.

Very pleased we were able to meet your needs. Location is a big factor for us being close to main tourist attractions, shopping and of course Manuka Oval when there is an event such as the cricket or AFL games. Hope we see you again some time. More

“A really good bargian hotel in the heart of Canberra”

This little motel is in a residential area which is walking/biking distance from the New Parliament Building. It's even closer to Kingston's little shopping strip, which has a bunch of great restaurants for brunch, lunch or coffee. Conveniently, the owners also rent out bikes, and if you rent a bike you can be anywhere in central Canberra in 1/2 hour... More
