We recently stayed at The Mowbray Guesthouse in Sunderland for two nights. We stayed in the family room, which had a double bed and two singles. The room was lovely and clean and very spacious. Beds were really comfortable. There's free wifi, which was great for the kids and for my hubby to catch up with work. The hosts were... More

Very close to town, the people own the place were very welcoming and all round wonderful people and made me feel very at home in what is a very new town to me. The room I was given is very clean and comfy and lots of channels to watch plus it has free wi-fi, The breakfasts there are always wonderfully... More

My first time in Sunderland and I just booked the Mowbray because of its central location - business trip. I worried about why it was SO reasonably priced and I was therefore very pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything. A lovely host - genuine, friendly person and a clean, large family house - beats the hotel "chains" every time.... More

My room was very comfortable & clean. 1st time in years I had slept in a single bed but slept like a log. Room facilities included large flate screen... More

Finally got around to reviewing The Mowbray after being a guest there several times over the last year. It was a great find, offering good value ,clean accommodation all within a short walk of Sunderland City Centre and the bus and metro links. Despite it's central location your sleep is not interrupted by traffic or passers by and I have... More

My friend and I were visiting family and friends in the area. This is the second time we have stayed in this guest house and the owners are very warm and welcoming. The rooms are warm, clean and comfortable with tea, coffee etc provided. There is an excellent choice for breakfast and whilst they offer the full English they are... More

Finding somewhere reasonably priced is not difficult in Sunderland, but finding somewhere that combines excellence and value certainly is. The Mowbray Guest House affords a warm welcome from Andrew and Alison upon arrival, and throughout your stay. The en-suite rooms are clean and comfortable. A good night's sleep is guaranteed followed by a hearty, traditional breakfast. These guys know what... More

Stayed at the guest house for a recent football match at the stadium of light. Will certainly use the place again despite previously using other hotels on the seafront its ideal for the SOL and winter gardens etc. Nce clean room and bathroom, really friendly hosts and a deserving breakfast. Would certainly recommend
