Dikencik Cottages – a sylvan retreat in the mountains of Fethiye; nestled in tranquil forest, some 24 km outside Fethiye, 4 km above the quiet center of Yeşilüzümlü, the unspoiled tranquility of the area is both awesome and invigorating, yet at the same time relaxing. Dikencik is a perfect retreat from the bustle of city life, close to the city, yet a world away. You will feel yourself relaxing as you drive through woods to the tranquil village of Yesiluzumlu. For anyone who really wants to get away from everything associated with the mass tourism resorts on the Mediterranean coasts of Turkey, Dikencik Cottages, hidden away in the Fethiye mountain forests really fits the bill.

John Muir is known as “John of Mountains” and used to say “The mountains are calling, and I must go”. Then we listened to John and went to Dikencik Cottages which is a hidden gem of Yeşil Üzümlü, Fethiye. Two bellboys are welcoming you; their names are Toros and Ela and they are together with cat friends, they like guests. A charming place for relaxing, reading books, and walking in nature. What else? If you are a beach person, it's just 45 minutes to beautiful Fethiye beaches and bays. If you are an adrenalin person, it's just 45 minutes to Babadağ for paragliding. We will be in Dikencik Cottages again very soon to catch are unforgettable memories.

I stayed at the tree house with my wife and our 2 years old daughter for 4 days. The terrace of the house was perfect. When our daughter slept at nights we spent really nice time in there. Even we couldn’t swim because of the weather , the pool side and the landscape is awesome. Ayşe and Cengiz are really nice people , thanks for everything.

What a marvelous place on Earth! Escape from the big cities and arrive to this hidden paradise is like being in Heaven. The month spent volunteering helping the kind hosts Ayse and Cengis at Dikencik was for me a kink of rebirth. Besides being excellent and welcoming persons, so human, hard workers, lovers of nature, peace and calm, they are always ready to share their knowledge and experience. In the whole they are a real lesson of life. Their tree house, where I stayed, was wonderful and I felt really at home. Their orchard and vineyards, their land in the middle of the woods, their exceptional and amazing view and scenery from the pool, their guest cottage very convenient for 8 people, so confortable, clean and fully equipped will make you feel at your own home in the middle of the mountains. Dikencik is a real invitation to relax, chill out and a cure to the stress and the mind with the advantage of not being far from the picturesque Üzümlü village down the hill and from Fethiye town and its beautiful beaches and surroundings. If you really feel at living a few days or weeks far from the noise and crowds of the busy cities, this is the right place. You won’t be disappointed! Come to enjoy and experience for yourself all the benefits this real hidden gem has to offer…

Definitely the highlight of our trip to Turkey this year! The cottage is so generously appointed and felt like home. The air is so fresh, the sounds of nature so pure. The hosts are amazingly caring and personal. The breakfast is 5-star in taste and presentation - during our visit we had two different types of local forest mushrooms. The salt-water treated swimming pool is so enjoyable and gentle on the skin. The view of the Milky Way was outstanding! The guests staying in the treehouse said it was the fourth year they've stayed at Dikencik. Dikencik is definitely a hidden gem, and Google Maps made it easy to find!

The owners, Ayse and Cengiz have built a magical place in the middle of the forest. Clean, spacious, and great facilities which includes a pool with spectacular views. We stayed in the stone house which has more than you can ask for - 4 bedrooms, bathroom, large living space, kitchen, terrace, and parking area.

My wife and I were taken here by friends. It's a hidden gem, just outside Yesil Uzumlu, about 15 miles north of Fethiye, hidden amongst the magnificent mojuntains and forests of the hinterland. Perfect hosts, fabulous breakfast, lovely rooms, great pool and utter, utter peace and quiet. Who could ask for more? Certainly not us. Divine. Uzumlu is a lovely, large village famous for morel fungi and it's weaving industry.

We spent three wonderful days at Dikencik. This time we slept in the newly constructed tree house. Falling asleep listening to nature sounds and waking up to more nature sounds in the form of birds ‘talking’ to each other was a very relaxing experience. Ayse and Cengiz’s hospitality is hard to match. The gourmet cooking and the exquisite spread of food were appreciated. We always feel at home, refreshed and relaxed at Dikencik. At the time of our visit, the endemic orchids were still blooming. The weather was warm enough to take a dip in the pool. Our nature walk allowed us to enjoy the beautiful blooms and two turtles. We strongly recommend that you plan a vacation at Dikencik Cottages. Thank you Ayse and Cengiz for a wonderful experience, especially in the tree house.
