Were weekend guests at the Hacienda and could not have been more pleased with our time spent there.
First a comment on location: this was a real Hacienda. Haciendas were not built city center, or near current popular tourist attractions. They were large land holdings in the countryside. It is a convenient location as it is 45 minutes out of...

My wife and I just attended a photography conference at El Carmen. We had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the food was wonderful. We felt very safe the entire time. If you are looking for an affordable relaxing getaway in the Guadalajara area I highly recommend this place.

My three female friends and I just came back from three days and two nights at the lovely Hacienda el Carmen and we can't say enough good things about it. We had a beautiful drive through the lovely Tequila/Ameca valley to get there and from the first moment we arrived, we were pampered and happy. A welcoming drink of aqua...

I absolutely loved my week at the Hacienda El Carmen. It was above all my expectations and each time I look at my photos a piece of my heart is pulled outside of my body. It is truly a beautiful location but the staff and owner are the heart and soul of the venue. The service and friendliness is the...

The place is an over-sized guest house with limited amenities. When making the reservation we were told that the hotel was easy to get to and only about 20-30 minutes away from downtown Guadalajara. WRONG. It takes at least 45 min. to drive to downtown Guadalajara IF there is no traffic. The grounds and rooms are pretty, but outside of...

Hacienda El Carmen has it all, great rooms, beautiful grounds, amazing food and drink and attentive staff.
I stayed for two weekends at the begining of May, with each weekend staying one night in the presidential suite and one night in the standard room.
Each was immaculately presented and came with all the nice little perks of a quality hotel....

The room, food and service are excellent.
It is refreshing to find a hotel where some wines on the list were very reasonably priced.
The room was 1340 pesos and dinner about 400
But we thought breakfast expensive at 300 pesos.

It is hard to describe the atmosphere of originality and romance. The staff is amazingly polite and helpful. The gardens and patio's, full with peacocks and colorful butterflies, that seem to be there to pleasure the guests. I have never seen so much beauty in one place. The spa is overwhelming. The rooms are so atmospheric; you'll feel like you...

This hotel is well worth the money you pay. It has everything you could possibly need and the place is extraordinary upon arriving there just like out of those old mexican movies you see. My only, one drawback is that it is far. From Guadalajara it took us about an 1hr and 30 mins to get there.
