This is primarily a restaurant with 6 rooms upstairs for guests. The accomodation is situated on the main street, directly above the waterfall. The bathrooms have been updated in the last 5 years and the rooms have been tastefully decorated. As with any old building this means the rooms are comfy, homey and have character. Though our room did not... More

It's an old in on the main street in Ennistymon. So the hot water is a bit slow and the heat wasn't much, and the plaster needs work. But the room was clean and comfortable, the price was right (45 euros in early May / 11) and included a delicious "full Irish" breakfast cooked up for me by Richard Byrne... More

We didn't actually stay at this hotel but had a meal there recently. Service was excellent, attentive but not excessively so, and the food was delicious, a far cry from the ubiquitous steak and chips and chicken goujons. This is really good Irish food, using top quality local ingredients and expertly prepared. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Byrne's is... More

Rarely feel strongly enough to write a review but this place is a real delight.Arrived after a great day in the Burren expecting little more than a bed for the night ,only to find that the best was yet to come.Great food and a very convivial atmosphere. The ambience is worth a trip on its own.Pity it doesn't open in the... Visited Byrnes Restaurant on a wet & windy night in July for family occasion. Beautiful food, home made breads, locally caught fish, great wine. Can't rate the place highly enough! More

Having already spent a lousy hour in the nearby Falls hotels (dirty, empty and in desperate need of a total overhaul), I decided to spend the night in Byrne's having heard good things about the food there. I did indeed have a great meal but this is not a hotel, more a guesthouse so don't expect hotel-type rooms. I felt... More

We satyed here overnight after a long drive from Kerry. The owner Richard was extremely accomodating and we were given a dinner, B&B for 160 euros with drinks. We had a great night and spent a fun evening in some of the pubs, wher the locals were very chatty and full of fun. I would recommend this hotel/resteraunt with its... More

I saw the great review so deceided to book a room based on it. I was very disapointed. Maybe I was unlucky, but the room I stayed in was terrible. Loads of flies in the room, and I mean loads, I opened the window at one stage to let some out and I swear, about 20 other ones started to... More

We spent one night in Byrne's of Ennistymon, on possibly the wettest evening of the year! Byrne's has a super location, as it overlooks the Cascades (white water falls) which were in full flow given the weather. Although we didn't venture out after dinner, Byrne's is in the centre of Ennistymon, and is close to a number of pubs which... More
