Gerry and Aoife are both wonderfully friendly and welcoming. The farmhouse is lovely, and makes a great B&B. The guest lounge with turf fire was cosy and warm, and the reference library was superb - better than anywhere else on this trip. It was so helpful to be able to identify wildflowers we had seen, and to learn about the... More

Our family of 5 stayed with Gerry and Aoife for the first two nights of our 10 day trip thru Ireland and we couldn't have been made more welcome , comfortable or well-fed. An "Irish breakfast" with Gerry is superb and his gracious wife willingly helped make our visit a wonderful starting point by helping in any way needed. This... More

Our stay at Slieve Elva was absolutly amazing!! We arrived at the B&B in the afternoon to be greeted by the host with the most Gerry Swords and his family! The house has a very welcoming and comfortable energy making you feel at home instantly. The sitting area is very cosy, with a lovely turf fireplace, and the main dining... More

This B&B was a great spot to travel to the Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands or Bunratty Castle. The Burren is very close and there are quaint small towns all around to explore. The hosts were warm and friendly and made you feel at home. Our room was nice size for our family of 4 which we found not so... More

We stayed with Gerry and Aoife for one night, after a long drive from Dingle. They made us feel so welcome in their home, recommended places in Doolin to eat and listen to music, and arranged our ferry from Doolin to the Aran Islands for the next day. Gerry makes an incredible Irish breakfast, including delicious eggs from his free-range... More

Hallo everybody, I hope my review will be useful for somebody. I have made the reservation in this B&B and already received confirmation. But one week later the hosts sent me e-mail that they cancel my booking because they have a big group this time. So actually they cancelled the confirmed booking. Be careful while making booking with this house.... More

They have donkeys, ponies, 2 mad dogs, and chickens that lay the most wonderful eggs I've had in a long time. Gerry and Aoife (sp?) are your hosts and they are the most delightful couple I've met in ages. Rooms are comfortable, the location in the Burren is superb. Gerry has recommendations for everything and put us on to some... More

My friend and I just returned from a two week vacation to Ireland. While we were there, we rented a car and traveled around the south. Slieve Elva was one of the best B&Bs that we stayed at. Gerry was absolutely wonderful. He treated us like family and gave us some great advice on a local pub. He also brought... More

I stayed at Slieve Elva Farmhouse with my wife and her Mum & Dad in July and would like to highly recommend it for anyone heading to the beautiful west coast of Ireland. Hosts, Gerry & Aoife, met us at the door warmly and we were sipping tea, eating Gerry's home made scones and chatting and laughing with our hosts... More

Really enjoyed our stay, host where very accomadating & seemed genuinely interested in what we needed for our stay. Tea & coffee facilities are in a guest living room with open turf fire and library, great for mingling with other guests 5 minutes drive to Lisdoonvarna, taxis available if you want to have a pint in the legendary town. Gerry... More
