Stopped into this hotel for lunch but have to admit it is very run down. The decor is dated and it's very quite. The food however was good and the staff were very polite,I just feel this hotel needs a bit of a make over because it has got great potential.

Although the people were great and the food was good, the decor was shocking - Very dated! Also, we were in a room facing onto the road and the noise was just something awful through the paper thin windows. Also the room just shook with every movement...the wardrobe clattered when the ppl upstairs walked around - I was awake from... More

Stayed here in Loughrea 3 nights. The room/bathroom was clean. Had tea/coffee and kettle in room. TV. 42-45euro/night with typical full Irish breakfast included. I got what I paid for and have no complaints about the hotel. Nearby Callatra Stables is a great place to have Gerry, the owner, accompany you fox hunting or on a ride through the forest.

Many f the reviews I read before I stayed were based on experiences in the hotel before the present owners took over. It is an old fashioned building and the rooms reflect this in their character. I had a very large and comfortable single room. The staff make the place. The young women and men who do everything from reception... More

We stayed in O'Dea's Hotel for one night recently while attending a funeral in St. Brendan's Cathedral. It has recently been taken over by new proprietors and we had a lovely, comfortable night there. Peter the barman was extremely friendly and helpful to all. There is no strict time limit for breakfast so we were able to have same at... More

I stayed here and was impressed with the food and the staffs attention and friendliness, the hotel has been recently been taken over and is undergoing improvements. The staff could not have been nicer

I didn't stay in O'Deas however on a long drive recently my family and I stopped off for lunch. The staff and in particular the bar man who doubled as the waiter was the rudest man I've ever had the misfortune to come across. The food was horrible and not worth the 30 minutes wait for. The hotel is shabby... More

stayed there (was known as the Railway Hotel)in 63 & 1968. had a wonderful time and hoped for the same in 08. I waited for 25 min. at the reception desk and was told every 3-4 min. that they'd be with me in just a min. After 25 min. i figured that they really didn't want my business, so i... More

We needed to stay in Loughrea town centre for one night only, and all web searches yielded only one option... O'Dea's. I read the mixed reviews and they seemed to go from one extreme to the other. Given that we just needed a clean place to stay from about 4PM on arrival, a good night's rest, breakfast and a quick... More

This hotel is filthy dirty and the staff do not just give bad 'service', but are down right hostile. The cups in my room, for example, supplied for tea and coffe were filthy, and the bed had a very strong unpleasant smell when I slept in it. Be careful if you make an on-line booking, through an agent, the person... More
