Grove house is the most fantasic b&b I've ever stayed in!! The welcome from Katarina and her sons was warm and sincere. The house is a lovely in every way from the eclectic decor, individual rooms (it's so nice not to have a tv screen staring at you), the location is superb overlooking Schull pier and just a short stroll... A group of 9 of us recently dined in the restaurant in Grove House for Sunday lunch to mark a family birthday. Food was excellent, without exception and while the selected wine was not available our host suggested an excellent alternative. We had asked in advance if a birthday cake could be prepared for the occassion and this was no... More

Really disappointing dinner in Grove House on the August bank holiday weekend. Firstly the waiter rhymed off several starters and mains which were already gone. This was the Saturday of the busiest weekend of the year so seriously bad planning there somewhere. There was no vegetarian main on the menu, I was given 2 options which seemed the same. I... More

Grove House is a wonderful old style guesthouse. Run by the excellent hostess Katherina who made us feel most welcome and who was happy to accommodate our request for a cot and high seats for our 6 month old infant. The food served up by the chef Nico was superb and we dined in the guesthouse restaurant on both night... More

We stayed four nights and enjoyed our stay immensely, perhaps aided by the fact that for three of them we were on our own and had the personal attention of Katarina, the owner. Our breakfasts were fine; up to a freshly-cooked full Irish if desired, and a paper to read as well. We discussed our evening meals each morning and... More

Our B&B recommended this for the restaurant and we were very impressed. The owner / chef is a charming lady who took us on a brief tour of the historic house. GB Shaw once stayed there. The hotel also looked very nice and comfortable. We would consider staying there in the future. More

Stayed in Grove House recently while visiting Schull for a triathalon and loved every minute of it - certainly one of the best places I've stayed in Ireland. Having seen a few of the rooms through open doorways, I do think our room (The Shaw Room) was probably the best! A very comfortable, old-style room with a great bathroom. Katarina,... More

I visited Schull to work on my novel and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Firstly, the house is gorgeous. The bedrooms are huge and beautifully furnished, complete with comfortable beds and writing desks. Each room is named after a writer – and each one has its own quirks and benefits. The Carberry offers wonderful light for... More
