Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We booked a stay at Castlemartyr Mews holiday homes, we were allocated house number 6. House smoke alarms missing upstairs, only bare wires in place. Latch removed from window on upper bedroom, great concerns about our family's safety. No functioning oven, 2 cupboard doors missing, floor mop on top of cupboards? Poor level of cleaning throughout. We were forced to return home after 1 night. When we complained to Trident they said they had no complaints about this property?? Mis-sold rental property...not up to standard and health and safety concerns for further renters.

My partner Malcolm & I had the great pleasure of staying at Castlemartyr with Trident Holiday Homes. The apartment was so clean, everywhere was gleaming, A welcome pack of essential food items was awaiting us on arrival. Anna our Property Manager was so welcoming & helpful throughout our stay. We had such a fabulous time we have booked a 2 week stay again in September. In addition our accommodation was pet friendly with a nominal fee charge. There is lots to do in the locality with many lovely beaches, & eating places to visit. It is only approx 30 minutes to Middleton or Youghal should you choose to visit. My last word is a great big thank you once again to Anna.

Don’t be fooled by the advertising photos. The house was nothing like the website photos. The master en-suite was a twin. We were celebrating my husband’s 60th New Year’s Eve for 4 days with family taking 2 houses( manager suggested pushing the twin beds together!) we gave the en-suite to the teenage grandsons and took the double ( small). I’ve added photos so no more explanation needed! House was grubby with stains on ceiling downstairs from upstairs bathroom and many areas in dire need or repair. Got no satisfaction from manager or later from the gm . Won’t be back and so far have told 2 sets of friends not to go there. Was really looking forward to our break , was expensive and I just look for value for money. Not here!😠

My husband and I just got back from a 2-week visit to Ireland. It was our first time to visit Cork and after exhaustive research and a recommendation from a friend who had stayed there last year, we based ourselves in Castlemartyr just 30 minutes outside Cork city. We found the perfect place through Trident Holiday Homes and stayed for five days at one of their 2-bedroom lodge homes. To be honest we were somewhat apprehensive after reading a couple of recent reviews prior to our actual visit as we made our reservation a few months beforehand. However, our experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the property manager Anna took care of us. We were impressed by the space, furnishings and cleanliness. Located at the top of a small village, the beautiful grounds of the property and the surrounding attractions exceeded our expectations. We will be sure to share our experience with anyone lucky enough to visit that part or Ireland.

We stayed for a week and were blown away by the comfort & space of the lodge. The area has plenty to offer with the village within walking distance. Very relaxing break and will definitely repeat the experience. We booked through Trident Holiday Homes and couldn't recommend the staff there for their assistance.

I am just back from a wonderful week away in the Lodges in Castlemartyr with my family. They were spacious, clean and perfect for a family break. the kids especially loved the space and privacy. There is loads to do in the area. A perfect break from the hectic busy world. Thank you Trident Holidays for recommending this location.

Stayed for a week and had an amazing time, weather was incredible for Ireland ! Castlemartyr is a gem in Cork to stay in, lovely village nearby with everything you would need within walking distance and the beach and Leahy's Pet farm within short enough drive. The accommodation was excellent as was the service by Anna and her team , really clean property and a nice hamper on arrival was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back.

Just back from a week in a 2 bed lodge in Castlemartyr, we love staying here. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. There was a welcome pack of bread, milk, etc and also a voucher for a free day out to Leahy’s Open Farm (highly recommended). Lots to do with the kids nearby, also great to be beside the hotel. Anna was lovely to deal with too, very helpful and easy to contact.

we are extremely disappointed with this accommodaion to the point it's on the verge of ruining our vacaition from the US. The house is not well kept and certanly not as advertised. It smells of damp. we had to move my asthmatic Daughter out of one of the rooms as the window is covered in black mould. Dead insects on the windows, carpets are ripped the key for the door takes several trys to open it. The bulb in the upper bathroom is flashing. No toilet seat in the lower bathroom, The fridge wouldn't close as the freezer was frozen over. The wifi works in the kitchen and not in the rest of the house. There are cigerates buts at the door. The courtyard does not comes close the the picture. WE MOVED OUT AND RENTED ANOTHER HOUSE DIRECTLY FROM THE HOTEL. DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY ITS A SCAM

Booked 4 nights in one of the lodges . Ended up leaving after 2 !! Could not face one more night in the place . Extremely dated and run down house, definitely NOT LUXURY as advertised. Cobwebs , dust , broken window handles , broken kick board around kitchen cabinets, shoddy kitchen cabinets , smell in entrance hall from downstairs toilet , broken tiles in en-suite , beds old 🤢, dirty glass banisters , garden furniture old and full cobwebs , dead ants , spiders , rat trap in hall press , outside decking that most definitely has things under it , couches extremely uncomfortable, floor boards moving because so old . I could go on . Houses are most definitely NOT 5 star and area is not 5 star . Trident are falsely selling these as luxury which is false!!!!! These lodges need a complete overhaul and a complete renovation. Will never book through this company again and most definitely will never come back to Castlemartyr. Completely overrated !!!!!!
