One of the best B & B's we stayed in - my daughter and I were touring the Dingle and Ring of Kerry/Skellig areas. The hosts were extremely welcoming and gracious, the room restful and the breakfast delicious. The breakfast room provides a sweeping view of Portmagee - we hope to stay here again some day! More

We were in Valentia hoping to go to Skellig Michael (not this time). Mary and Jim were so delightful and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and the room was fantastic. We could see the Valentia bridge and the water from our windows. I hope to return someday and maybe make it out to Skellig Michael. I will definitely stay at... More

We traveled to Valentia Island to run a half marathon and stayed at the Shealane Country House based on TripAdvisor reviews. Mary, the owner, was an absolute darling, incredibly accomodating, friendly, easy to talk to and a great cook! The breakfast each morning was delightful and the rooms were warm and cozy. We stayed in a double upstairs and enjoyed... More

My Husband, daughter and I chose to stay at Shealane Country House thinking it was near my Grandmother's home on Valentia Island.(It was!) Mary met us and told us about the Heritage Museum on the island and gave us information about family names there also. We went to the museum and found my Grandmother's name on school records , it... A spotlessly clean, welcoming, b & b with the most amazing views across the Atlantic Valentia Island is an amazing place to explore, and Shealane is a fab place to base yourself; eating in Port Magee is not good for the waistline - but your tastebuds will approve. Keep your fingers crossed the wind is gentle so you can get... More

We spent one night with Mary and Jim in their beautiful home. They are excellent hosts who went our of their way to make us feel welcome and provide us with the best Irish hospitality. The rooms were spotless and most comfortable in every way. We had a beautiful view over the quaint village of Portmagee. Mary suggested we walk... More

Shealane Country House is a beautiful and comfortable place. From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed and well cared for by Mary and Jim. Such gracious hosts. Wonderful views of Valencia Island, the harbor and Portmagee from the breakfast room (breathtaking 180 degree views!) and from our sleeping room. We oohed and aahed at the panoramic... More

Shealane Country House is a really beautifull place. The house is decorated with taste, can see the lady of the house knows her stuff. The rooms were lovely and very cozy. Breakfast very tasty, moreover, served with a menu), so we recommend this place and wish all the best for Mary and Jimi. More
