As a long time visitor to Ireland (annually for decades), the Quay House in Clifden is by far the best of all accommodation I have ever stayed in and offers its guests the best rooms, breakfast, hosts, location and peaceful surrounding in all of Ireland. Julia and Paddy could not provide their guests with a warmer welcome and stay. Every... More

Julia and Paddy have hospitality down pat in this quirky, comfortable beautiful little place. the common areas are interesting and comfortable, and breakfast is served in a glass walled, leaf ceilinged area that makes your meal a special event. The hosts are both welcoming and helpful, and yet not in your face. A great place to use as a base,... More

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend and from the moment we entered the front door, knew we had arrived somewhere special. Our hosts Julia and Paddy made us welcome and we were shown 3 rooms and allowed to chose which one we wished to stay in. We chose the Napoleon room, but would have been equally as... More

We stayed one night in the Quay House and loved it. Our cosy bedroom on the first floor overlooked the estuary. The lounges and dining room were full of antiques and arefacts- the lounge had cosy settees and an open fire. Julia was a wonderful hostess offering very drinkable white wine by the glass and great local advice on dining... More

We (party of 4) stayed with Paddy and Julia at the beginning of October and loved our stay. The Quay house is a perfect location to not only explore Clifden but also the Connemara region. The Quay house is in a beautiful spot right down on the harbor. We had a room facing the water and it was very peaceful... More

We have stayed her three or four times over the last decade. The rooms are all different in both size and decor, the common rooms are the least common rooms that you may ever see and the host and hostess are kind and helpful. They serve a complete breakfast, or rather the potential for any kind of breakfast: fresh fruits,... More

We spent three nights at this B&B and we could not be more pleased. We had a wonderful en suite room on the top floor with a great balcony view of the harbor. A short walk into town, which gave us the benefit ot walking to dinner but allowed us the peace and quite of the harbor. The owners could... More

This bed and breakfast was a perfect find to explore the Connemara National Park and the cute town of Clifden. The host and hostess was perfect from reservation making to the time we checked out. Each room is unique with treasured antiques (we stayed in the one that looks like a African Safari and had a cute balcony overlooking the... More

We stayed here two nights.....lovely accommodations and the breakfast was outstanding....wonderful choice of fresh fruit, yogurts, breads, scones, etc. and a large menu for the main course such as full Irish breakfast, eggs, oysters, etc. The owners are outstanding...charming and helpful. We considered this our best stay while in Ireland. More
