Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently re-visited this hotel as part of a group. One of my party has a disability and requested the same room as we had last year high lighting mobility issues, which we did not get. When enquiring was quoted incorrect price and when corrected did not apologize. The hotel has 89 rooms but only 1 disabled park which is v difficult to access and regularly blocked by delivery vehicles. The entrance door is v narrow especially with luggage and a walking stick and there was no welcome words or offers of help with luggage. The room we were assigned was facing a high wall and was very dusty with lumps of accumulated dust under the lockers which continued to reside with us during our 2 night stay. The bathroom consisted of a shower unit inside a high sided bath, totally inappropriate for people with mobility issues. The paint work was tired and damaged and 2 handles fell off the lockers. There is no receipts for any purchases so if you pay cash you have no proof of purchase which can be difficult if asked for payment twice. Overall an old fashioned tired hotel living in the past with badly mannered, rude staff only redeeming feature was the restaurant.

Having been in the Hospitality Industry all my working life I feel The Dunraven Arms is one of the Best Hotels I have experienced. First class service from Michelle at Reception for upgrading Us after a few comments. The food in the restaurant both Dinner and Breakfast 5 star with the current climate the price for Dinner very competitive and excellent. The breakfast was superb great high class produce be it the Muffins or the delightful tasting Sausage. I would have no hesitation in stating here again in the future. Great place relaxed but professional

Staff are friendly, good parking facilities but cleanliness is always an issue in the pool and changing rooms. There are often health and safety issues across the leisure centre, at one stage we entered the sauna and one of us sat on an up-facing screw which had been left of the seats.

Went for a big family birthday and booked the restaurant in hotel. Staff at reception were very welcoming and pool was lovely. However, the food and service in hotel is sadly not what it used to be. The service in the restaurant was horrific and although there appeared to be two managers in the restaurant all of the time, they just seemed oblivious to everything going on. I would put it down to no or really bad training of managers and wait staff. It was impossible to get anyone's attention for anything even though there was a surplus of staff. The menu was serious limited with very little choice and the food was unfortunately mediocre. The wait for food was ridiculous long and kids were starving. The beef a few of us ordered was nearly all fat. The homemade cookie literally tasted of a hard heated up chocolate chip cookie from a packet. Never once did someone, wait staff or managers come up to us and ask if things were ok. It was a shame as there was 11 of us for a 50th. The most disappointing was when a friend rang and paid €38 for a bottle of Prosecco on ice to be dropped to the birthday girls room before dinner with a lovely note. Instead, a half bottle of wine was dropped into the room with no note and it was assumed the hotel dropped this until the person who paid for it contacted us the next morning to find out if we had received her gift. She was so disappointed. I think they should have refunded her for the Prosecco and done something for the birthday girl as a token. Her friend could have simply picked up a bottle of Prosecco for a tenner and handed it to her herself on the day after her birthday. Reception were unable to tell us what happened and never contacted me about it again and the birthday girls was simple handed a bottle of Prosecco checking out which defeated the whole point of the fun of receiving it on ice on her actual birthday. If staying in the hotel, I would still do so again, but I would book one of the lovely restaurants across the road instead.

Stayed here last Tuesday night on my own. It was a lovely room and the breakfast was lovely. The hotel was quiet as the guests were mostly tourists. It was good value as well. I thought the staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again the next time I'm heading out in Adare, which will be soon.

Here for Sunday Lunch , a return visit after 2/3 years. Nothing has changed , still the same high quality food and superior service. We both had had the Roast Beef, which is unbelievable. The home made horseradish sauce really adds to it. Everything about this place is quality.
