We had a big family reunion/vacation in the southern part of the Republic in August 2012 and we stayed in Kinsale for two nights. The location of the Seagull Guest House was absolutely perfect: we could walk everywhere and yet the B&B was just a little up the hill so it was nice and quiet. Mary was a wonderfully warm... More

A delightful place to stay in the heart of Kinsale. The rooms are large enough for two, clean, the bathrooms are modern and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast that was served was excellent. Mary is a wonderful host and very helpful and an interesting person to visit with. The cost of the rooms is reasonable. As well, to... More

Our family of 6 occupied 3 rooms in Mary O'Neill's B&B last week & enjoyed it thoroughly! Contrary to past reviews, it was clean & very well-kept. Mary has someone who helps her clean, though she cooked our delicious Irish breakfast herself. Sea Gull House is charming, a true home with photos & momentos of the O'Neill family life. It... More

Ms. Mary took us in last minute with no problems. She is a lovely lil elderly lady that is 4th generation of Kinsale. They own the local Tap Tavern just down the hill from the Sea Gull House B&B. They B&B is also located next door to the Desmond Castle which made it easy to find at night after walking... More

We stayed at the Seagull House on Rick Steeves book recommendation. This is a cute B&B that reminded me of what my Irish grandmother's home used to look like. Mary is adorable and generous and kind. The rooms are clean and small, but comfortable. We told her that our toilet wasn't working and she ran up the stairs to fix... More

I had read the reviews prior, so I was prepared for the cold - no problems there. Mary was in The Tap Tavern as expected and was as sweet as could be. Be aware that "street parking" is hard to find - you might have to park a block or so away from the house. My biggest problem was the... More

We were supposed to stay at another B&B but somehow the reservation was never consumated so wanting to be in walking distance to the center of Kinsale this was the best B&B available. Turns out that the owner, Mary is a fixture in Kinsale. She owns a pub ( The Tap Room) down the hill from the B&B and we... More

Mary is a very nice person but the room was dirty. The cup on the sink was dirty. The toilet is in the bathroom area but the shower was in the bedroom which was awkward. The room was creepy, small, dirty, and we could hear everyone flushing their toilets and talking throughout the night. Mary owns and works at the... More

Super great stay with Mary O'Neill. So much fun with others who stayed there for past eight yrs. who came to fish. Great location, most fun town, great feel for old old building and true Irish hospitality and getting to know the locals. She owns the pub down the street. Thanks Mary! Mike and JoAnne Tressler
