The Mills Inn was always a staple for us when travelling from Kerry to Cork. It had been a while so was really looking forward to stopping again with my husband & childen. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the same. Poor quality overall. So disappointing. Vegetarian lasagne was full of mushy peas (!!) and besides that oddity just wasn't tasty. Kids pasta was undercooked. No little bit of cheese on the side or even a wee bit of garlic bread, just void of anything special. We had hoped for just have some toasties but they no longer offer sandwiches, such a pity. The toasties were always great. So, I doubt Ill be back. I've been stopping at the Mills Inn sice I was a child so its a pity.
Stayed at the Mills Inn for two nights recently. Caroline was so welcoming as was Don the owner. All have great personalities with a lighthearted attitude. So refreshing. Food was lovely and all the staff were so nice. Rooms so comfy. We’ll be back for a good session of music and craic in due course. Rita (Sligo)
Booked a table 2 days previous and when arrived had no booking for us but was seated regardless luckily. Had people seated behind and in front of us chairs touching ZERO social distancing so asked to be moved. Food came and chips were disintegrated as looked like they had been recooked and left there as all food was cold also. Lasagna was disgusting and tasted and looked like it had been cooked a few days previous. My child’s sausages were burnt to a crisp on top of it. Been here a few times and this was beyond disappointing and annoying that these people are not separating the tables at all for social distancing and food terrible and over priced on top of it. Definitely won’t be returning and hope they get their act together !
Went for a drink and a chat. No problem with the first but my word the noise! There was some music on but to be honest it was far too loud. everyone shouting and having to repeat numerous times my order for bar staff, ...we left.
This restaurant is in an ideal location for tourists when you're done with your meal you can browse in the little shop on the same grounds where they sell anything from local ice cream to designer clothing. The food here is excellent. There is a wide variety to choose from. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.
I Have frequent this place many times over the past few years and I am sorry to say service and food has gone down hill I have given it a few chances with getting a bad meal but I have to say last night is the last time probably the worse meal I have had in the country!! Such a shame as it's a nice restaurant!
We were on our road to Kilkenny and we were hungry we stopped at mills inn in a cold day and the place is super Cosy we had a good breakfast with super good tea, staff is great and food was good too even th ambient is very Cosy it’s good for dinner it just to have a Drink
There are not many places to get food and drink on the road from cork to Killarney, so it was a relief to find this place. Lovely pub and good food. We only had some starters and drink, but the portions were generous so they were as good as a main. Lovely fire.
We spent 3 nights here using the Inn as a base to visit Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula, and Cork. It was nice to know that we could still come back to a pint and dinner. Good breakfast (full Irish is an option).
Staying near by for a short break in Cork/Kerry we went here for our evening meal. The restaurant section was closed but there was plenty seating in the pub. Nice cosy friendly feel. Service was good and efficient. Good menu with lots of choice - I had the steak - really nicely cooked and generous servings. Deserts were also generous. You will be very full and content at such a delicious meal. Have been before last year and they maintained the same high standard. Loved the locally brewed beer
