Our group of four had an evening meal at the end of the May Day Holiday. We had a pleasant and enjoyable evening. The staff were very good. They were helpful, cheerful and keen to please. The food was good though some preferred items were not available due to the busy holiday period. This was a pity but what we... More

Well, myself and my companion walked in the door, only 2 people in the whole lounge eating...we were quickly and rudely told that we had to sit in the corner away from the window as all the tables were reserved for the evening-not a great start. But then we had the waitress, blatantly hungover from the bank holiday weekend come over... More

Fantastic Location for a quick summer shandy at the picnic tables overlooking the water. Well maintained gardens at the rear. Outdoor TV, not great viewing in the sunshine but a nice touch. Can't comment on food as we did not eat but prices seemed very reasonable However the service was poor. One staff member working the bar and floor on... More

Whilst I have been unfairly harsh about the mildy annoying oversight that occurred at check-in with respect to the wireless broadband log in details not provided (dumb, but not fatal), I did receive a personal follow-up email from the Head of Guest Services who apologised and offerred an upgrade, which I appreciated. To those guests who say "wish I could... More

We were celebrating a birthday. Having examined the uninspired menu and seen what was coming out of the kitchen I decided the safest bet was to ask for something simple - egg & chips. Rock solid egg, burnt to a crisp and a mound of soggy chips that had obviously been reheated. My dining companions fared no better. The vegetarian... More

Great memories both as repeat guests and diners over the past 20 years were dashed on a recent lunch time visit. We were the only visitors in the bar/dining area Saturday 22nd Sept and were served the most horrible soups " Vegetable" tasting of nothing but water and " Chowder " again watery and containing dangerous fishbones .Garlic mushrooms were... Not at all impressed with the Sunday lunch. Felt it was thrown together and bland. Dining room nice but for what we got felt we got ripped off and certainly wont be going back. Felt the owner was not a bit genuine - only just out to make as much as he could - with litle regard for the customers.

We had been let down at Pontoon Bridge on our anniversary so wanted to find somewhere close to eat. A friend had recommended this place sober thought we'd give it a go. Right from the off it felt like the perfect decision. Great choice on the menu, prices were reasonable (we had 3 courses each including 9oz fillet steak and... More

We were also promised a refund of 140 euros due to a cancellation for Healy's that we had place in November, 2010. We have been waiting patiently. We even tried to get it back through our credit card but because we trusted John the grace period was too late. Healy's is a lovely place to stay and we thought because... More

In November 2010 I paid a deposit for a visit to be made in May 2011. There was a fire at the hotel in January 2011 and and my visit was cancelled and on March 3rd 2011 I was told that my deposit would be returned. Despite many reminders all I have received are the occasional promise that I will... More
