Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brian is a great host. The bedrooms are very clean and spacious. The shared kitchen/ living room is very clean. Breakfast and fresh eggs from their hens was super. our kids (10, 6, 3) really enjoyed the space to play indoors (games room) and outdoors. It's a little out of town, so you will need a car.

Stayed for 2 nights at Dingle Gate and can highly recommend it for comfort, cleanliness, facilities and management. Brian (owner) has a wealth of local information and good humour! The kitchen is kept spotless and the comm p n area is quiet and comfortable. Plenty of DVDs to watch along with a separate games area with table tennis, pool and a piano. (Yes, a piano....brilliant idea!) Rooms are bright and warm and the beds were fresh and comfortable. Breakfast, tea and proper coffee are complimentary, need to be up early for the hens eggs though! It's a 25 minute walk to Annascaul on a good footpath but you won't notice because you'll be looking at the beautiful scenery. A perfect base for a walking or driving holiday if you like peace & quiet. Go to the village for excitement in the great pubs there.

Room (Double bed) was spotless clean, modern and comfortable. Expected to have a shared bathroom but our room had its own ensuite toilet and shower room. Location was ideal to travel both Dingle Peninsula and Ring Of Kerry. Shared space was dated but clean, Kitchen was well equipped, very friendly and attentive staff (Brian). Breakfast was provided, Tea, coffee, milk, cereal and fresh bread and fresh eggs from hens on site. Exceeded our expectations, would highly recommend if proximity to dingle isnt a priority (20km outside).

Dingle Gate Hostel is a nice hostel located in the middle of the Dingle peninsula! Perhaps you often think that hostels are dirty and nasty - but this is not the case at Dingle Gate Hostel - at Dingle Gate Hostel it is surprisingly fresh and clean. We had a four bed room - we were three persons with three large bags and we got room without problem. The beds (two single beds and one bunk-bed) were comfortable and I slept rather well, however the hens outside were a bit disturbing in the morning. It was also nice that our room had a wooden floor and not a wall-to-wall-carpet. From our room we had a view over the trees, mountains and the hens at the back of the house. So it was a nice and peaceful view. The toilet with a sink and the shower is separated. Both worked well, but the shower felt a little bit old and unfresh. Even though Dingle Gate Hostel is located close to the large road N86, I did not hear any cars and lorries when I were going to sleep, so Dingle Gate Hostel is a peaceful place. It is very nice and practical that breakfast is included at Dingle Gate Hostel: toast, marmalade, butter, cereal, milk and eggs (from the hens at the back of the house). You help yourself to everything and dish your plate and cutlery afterwards. The kitchen is mostly fresh - it was user-friendly and everything worked well, but it felt a bit messy and it was hard to find some of the things. There is a lounge with couches, armchairs and a fireplace, where you can play some games that you can borrow from the hostel. Dingle Gate Hostel is located three kilometres from the village of Annascaul, where there are several restaurants and stores and 20 kilometres from Dingle (the largest town on the Dingle peninsula), a pretty little town with a bunch of lovely restaurants (especially Murphy's Pub) and plenty of cute and colourful houses. I can recommend Dingle Gate Hostel: in the hostel-class it is a very good hostel and it was great that breakfast was included!

We have traveled extensively across Europe, the USA and a bit into Africa and this was our first stay in a hostel. We opted for Dingle Gate Hostel as we wanted to stay in Anascaul and they offered a family room with a private bath. Previous reviews were positive and we took a chance - and we were quite happy with the experience. The owner/operator, Brian, is very friendly and made us feel welcome. The hostel is about 1 mile outside of Anascaul (which can be reached by car or on the paved bike path) and has ample parking. The common room and kitchen are colocated away from the family room. Breakfast is from 7-11 and includes farm fresh eggs (from the on site chickens), toast and cereal as well as coffee and tea. Our room was simple but clean and with comfortable beds. Plenty of green space for the little ones to run around before a day of touring.

Friendly manager showed us to a clean and comfortable room. The hostel is in a very quiet countryside location. There is a well furnished dining and communal sitting area. Breakfast was well stocked with good bread, cereals and condiments. Good quality ground coffee was provided too. You will need to travel 2kms into the nearest town for dinner and shops. All in all, a really great hostel, well situated on the Dingle Way trail.

We stayed on their first night of reopening and you could tell. The gentleman that owns it was so so friendly, you could tell he was working hard to make it great. Comfortable bed and clean room with private bathroom. Lovely family room with nice fire place. The chickens are a fun touch too!
