Wonderful place to call "home base" for a couple of days. Shiela was a wonderful host- the perfect balance of motherliness and no-nonsense. The memory of her Irish breakfast still makes my mouth water, and I think I'm always going to miss her home-made bread! Probably the most memorable thing about the Shiela was how accommodating she was in respect to our comfort. On our second day there, I asked her if it was okay if I buy some firewood so I could light a fire in the sitting room to read books from her modest library to my son by the warmth of a fire (perfect after those rainy days!). Upon returning from our adventures that day, I smiled as I saw that smoke was already rising from her chimney. She had made a fire ready for us (who knows how long she kept it up), and she made sure that there was always a fire going at night for the rest of our stay. Probably one of my favorite memories from our tour of Ireland will be reading by the fire with my son. Thank you, Shiela!!

This was our second time staying at the White Heather Farm House in Kenmare. We enjoyed it so much on our first trip to Ireland in 2018, when we took our second trip to Ireland in June of 2022, we made sure to stay there again. We love to hear and see the sheep on the farm. Unfortunately, while in Kenmare, my wife became ill and Shelia went out of her way to help us. She connected us to a local doctor. She continued to care for us even after our checkout time. Shelia treated us like we were family. Shelia provides wonderful food and sleeping accommodations. I would highly recommend the White Heather Farm House for anyone traveling in Ireland and planning a stop in Kenmare.

Lovely setting friendly welcome. Very clean and great value. Home made scones with breakfast and orthopaedic mattress on bed so had a great sleep. All three of us enjoyed the experience and all rooms were well put together. A working farm so a lovely experience.

The BNB is ideally situated between Kenmare and Glengariff, surrounded by green fields & mountains. It’s a working farm with hens, sheep & cows around. Sheila is very committed and extremely helpful. She has great advice about things to do in the area. The BnB itself is fine. The family room was spacious with en-suite bath. The interior is dated but everything is very clean. The rooms could do with some fresh and brighter paint as well as a bit of modern furniture.

We stayed here for 1 night during our travels in Ireland and found it to be comfortable and quiet, but we wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer. The B&B is in a great location with respect to exploring Kenmare and the surrounding areas. Although it sits on a busy road the traffic noise wasn't an issue whatsoever for us as our room was on the backside of the house, away from the road. Sheila the hostess was welcoming, very friendly, pleasant and lovely to talk with. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and fully functional but the furnishings were quite tired and dated. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The unacceptable issue we had with this B&B was in relation to the bath towels provided.....they smelled so badly of sheep manure that it was repulsive to both of us and we couldn't use them.....and consequently it made us question the overall cleanliness of the B&B as a whole.

Thank you for all your positive comments about "The Whiteheather Farm". Please note that we are a typical Irish working farm and for two selected days in January and in June we spread farm slurry on the fields. As the windows were opened for those two days in June, this was the smell that you encountered. It was a pity that you did not bring this concern to us during your stay. "The Whiteheather Farm" was inspected recently by Fáilte Ireland" and met all the required standards.

I loved staying at the White Heather Farm. Sheila is amazing. She is very kind and hard-working. I enjoyed her accommodations and breakfast every morning. She was very helpful. My room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. Her property is gorgeous and allowed me to drive to the ring of Kerry and hike in Killkenny National Park. Will definitely be visiting again.

If you are looking for a very rustic place to stay you will enjoy White Heather Farm. However for the price we paid we have enjoyed significantly more comfortable accommodations. It is important to recognize that this is a true working farm. We enjoyed meeting our proprietress Sheila and her adorable grandson Ronan who showed us the lambs and even walked us up the farm road so we could see a one day old calf. We did have a couple of items that are worth a mention. There were some spiderwebs with spiders in the corners of the bathroom and behind one of the wall radiators, along with some little bugs stuck to the shower walls. There did not appear to be any heat overnight. The towels were definitely line dried so were quite stiff and uncomfortable but also being dried out of doors on a farm, they carried a strong odor of farm animals & agriculture. Lastly, husband was of the opinion the morning coffee was burnt.

Dear Guests, Thank you for your review and delighted you enjoyed Ronan, the typical Irish farm, the pet lambs and the baby calf. All very unique experiences. Yes, Ronan is a great boy who brought you to see the lambs and baby calf and he loves his farm. It was a shame that you didn't bring any of your concerns to our attention on the morning of your departure. It was noted that you had to pay for a family room which you booked through an agent whereas a double or twin would have been much better value. As you left the windows opened and the light on at night it is only normal that spiders would enter the room. Yes, our towels are all dried naturally but there is certainly no farm smells from them as the farm buildings are 1/2km away from the main house. Never heard of burnt coffee? but again why didn't your husband ask for a fresh cup? Our house was inspected in May 2019 by Fáilte Ireland and met all the required standards.

We loved staying at the White Heather Farm B&B. the location was perfect for us: close to both the Beara Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Sheila was a perfect hostess, extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Although we arrived quite late, she waited up for us and served us tea, coffee and cookies. The full Irish breakfast was also delicious. 9 1/2 out of 10!

We have been in this B&b for one night . Host is lovely and it is in a very quiet place . Breakfast good , enough , served with fresh products served . I don't give the four star as it is necessary, for me, to give it a "refresh" , more cleaness is necessary ,

White Heather B&B was very nice. Sheila accommodated for our service dog, even though she didn't know we were bringing a dog. Make sure to call ahead about a dig because it us listed as a dig friendly place. Delicious breakfast, quiet en suite rooms, comfortable beds and CLEAN!!. Not like our Airbnb experiences.
