Very nice, well-kept home on a main street in Kenmare, but quiet inside. The host, Patrick, is very friendly, nice, and helpful. He offered us another twin room when he saw we had more luggage. He also offered for us to use the main bathroom upstairs as the shower stall was cramped. He offered us fresh warm breads and tea... More

Great place with great people! We called a couple of times on the way in to let them know we would be late and we were greeted like long family. My daughter needed a couple of clothing items washed and rather than send us to a laundromat they just washed them for us. Breakfast was also excellent. My Irish breakfast... More

Pat - we finally understand hurling! Thanks a lot and thanks even more for sharing your house and some of your stories with us! (And of course, for drying our clothes and for taking care of our helmets until we dropped by, again.) In total, we have stayed with Pat for 3 nights, 3 times one night in two week`s... More

Rooms are clean, large, well appointed and the water is hot. Staying in this B & B was a very nice experience. Pat, the owner could not have been more helpful. He knew my family, could give me some additional insights into the area and was very engaging. The location is excellent for going into town and for traveling to... More

Pat is an entertaining and charming host who made us feel like visiting an old friend. An extremely sweet, helpful and warm personality whose enthusiasm and positivity are contagious. Sure, rooms are wonderful, clean and quiet, breakfasts overwhelming, showers delightfully hot after a cold day in the hills, but Pat simply made the difference. More

Pat was welcoming in true Irish hospitality B&B traditition and a very kind, genuine man. My room was very comfortable, breakfast delicious and his knowledge and advice of the area was invaluable. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on a return visit. Kenmare was hosting a music festival the weekend I arrived. I got there late Sunday afternoon but there... More

We had planned to stay at a different b&b but after a long flight and a long day, we found that there were plumbing problems and we could not stay there. Pat took us in at Avelow House. What a sweetheart! His house is warm and friendly and we felt as though we were staying with an old friend. The... More

The room was big and comfortable and the lounge and dining-room facilities were excellent. Pat's breakfasts were great and his advice on where to go and what to see were spot on! I would recommend this charming b & b to everyone staying in Kenmare. More
