We ate at the Prince Leopold on Tuesday evening (7th May). What a disappointment! Although the staff were friendly and the service fine (not the quickest) the food was well below par. Gosh how this place has gone downhill over the past 2 years. I ate there 2 years ago and had a fantastic meal. Was there again last summer... More

We stopped off here on BH Monday for a bite to eat. The location (my the river) is lovely especially as it was such a lovely sunny day. We placed our food order immediately as our 3 year old was very hungry - not once did they mention that there was a HUGE wait for food - if they had... More

When I saw another reviewer had said The Prince Leopold was a hidden gem, I thought that's for us. I was pleased that one of the young chaps took my case upstairs to Room 2, which looked out over the car park. The twin bedded room with an en suite was clean and the full English on Sunday morning had... More

My first ever review prompted by yesterday's experience; completely under-staffed, over-rated and really not worth the effort. A glorious day spoilt waiting an hour and twenty minutes for lunch; understandable/acceptable if the food were complicated (a salad, one sandwich and roast lunch) or if the end-product was sensational (sadly not as the order was incorrect, one sandwich returned, one sandwich... we had a slightly disappointing night at another establishment, and scrambled for somwhere else that met our requirements at extremely short notice. what a find! just a lovely setting: out of the way, next to a large stream/small river (literally, it's at the end of the garden); fantastic, fiendly staff; welcoming owner; and great food. room was airy and bright... I stayed for 2 nights and wished it had been more - don't be fooled by the exterior or the fact it is at the end of a dead end road in the town it is more than worth the slight detour to get to it from the main road. There are 3 distinct areas to this hotel, the bar,... More

Just 8 minutes from the a303. The landlady was very kind to my boisterous children. The setting is beautiful and the pub very attractive. I had possibly the best fish pie I've eaten and my husband delighted by the size of the very tasty dishes. Quantity and quality and reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Prince Leopold Inn for 2 nights, its a great quiet location very near to Longleat Safari Park. The owner & staff were very welcoming. Our 2 double rooms where very nice & comfy. The breakfasts where very nice & 2 evening meals we also had where great hearty pub meals. Overall very good value for money... More

My family and I stayed overnight while travelling from Kent to Devon and we got a great deal for dinner and B & B. We arrived early evening and received a warm welcome from the staff who showed us to our room. Our room was tastefully decorated and large enough for a z bed for our daughter. When we were... More

We were driving from Cambridgeshire to Cornwall and decided to break the journey at the Prince Leopold. We had booked an evening meal in the restaurant but got stuck in horrific traffic to the point where it started to look like we might miss last orders for food. I phoned ahead and explained. When we arrived in the nick of... More
