Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a great stay with Ellen, she was very helpful and kind. We were greeted with tea/coffee and cake which was great. Ellen provided good information on the locality and places to eat. The Haven lodge is lovely, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and an excellent breakfast.

We have just enoyed a wonderful stay with Ellen Colfer at her gorgeous bed and breakfast, The Haven Lodge. Ellen greeted us with tea and warm scones on our arrival and treated us like family. The breakfast each morning was delicious and her rooms are comfortable, clean and very cosy. But it was Ellen's warm and friendly character that really made our stay special. We found a little hidden treasure in County Wexford!

I have stayed at many b&bs during my cycling travels around the world. The Haven b&b, run by Ellen, is by far thes best b&b I have ever been too. It is as clean and comfortable as many others, but as far as service goes, it is second to none. All I needed was to sleep after not have slept the night before (ferry night trip from Wales). Nevertheless, Ellen offered to drive me on to town to buy dinner if needed (which I didn't), made sure to offer me the best vegan selection of food for breakfast and fruit for the road. ellen is the kindest host and I cannot say enough to thank her.

We stayed at The Haven Lodge for a wedding and it was a wonderful experience. Ellen was beyond helpful and lovely to communicate with. She was there at the door ready for us at check in and had a beautiful breakfast for us the next day. The room itself was fabulous and beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay there.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to over 50 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. In all that time I can confidently say I’ve never received a warmer welcome or greater hospitality than I received at Haven Lodge. Nell is the type of person that people think of when we say ‘Cèad Míle Fáilte’- ‘A Hundred Thousand Welcomes’. Her hospitality, kindness and decency is a credit to the community, the county and the country. I should also mention that the breakfast was excellent, and the room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. But what sets it apart is the friendliness and warmth of the people. If you’re in the area (for example for a wedding at the beautiful Horetown House like I was) I can’t recommend The Haven Lodge enough. Thank you Nell, Máirtín, Laurence and Anna for such a wonderful stay. Good luck with everything, Coileán

We had a wonderful stay in Haven Lodge, there was a genuine warm welcome & Nell's hospitality made for a lovely comfortable stay. She had been extremely helpful in arranging a restaurant for dinner & a salon. A perfect place for children, with lots of space for them to run about, & interesting things to see. The breakfasts were delicious.

Myself and my family stayed in the cottage next door while we were attending a wedding nearby. The cottage was so spacious and comfortble it was a shame we didn't get to spend more time there. Also Ellen and her daughter Anna were so lovely and welcoming and made our stay an absoutle pleasure. Could not recommend more.

We recently stayed with a group of twelve friends attending a wedding at nearby Hoaretown House Ellen couldn’t have been more professional and extremely helpful from organising our transport to booking our restaurant for the night before the wedding , also advising on hairdressing , beauty salon etc. The accommodation was five star , fully equipped kitchen ( complete with a homemade apple tart to welcome us ) very comfortable beds with nice linen and plenty of fluffy towels Great breakfasts too . I would not hesitate to recommend the Haven Lodge and look forward to returning one day Marie Johnston
