We've stayed at the Major Davel twice. If you don't like old Europe you won't like this. I had the misfortune of visiting Au Major Davel. The food isn't really wonderful, and the hostess treats her employees horribly. You can just see it in their faces, it's quite sad. The view is great over looking Lake Geneva, though.

The hotel benefits from a great location directly at the border of Lac Lemon. Our room had nice views on the lac but the decor was outmoded and the amenities provided were very basic, e.g., there was not television in the room. Breakfast (served on the covered terrace) was a disappointment, so was dinner at the hotel.
