We stayed for 2 nights, nice room and good breakfast. Only 100m to historic village centre, down a slight cobbled stoned street. Lots of cafes and restauraunts to choose from. The local specialty is duck. Can get a bit boring, would love to see some other items on the menu's

We stayed at this hotel for one night, but could have easily stayed longer, our programme permitting. It is located on the edge of the medieval city, so it's great for visiting the old town. It is a converted chateau, full of character. We stayed in a family room (number 19) in the tower and, with windows all around the... More

We stayed and extra night. The hotel is built within part of the old city wall and the interior is labyrinthine. Our room was quiet, the staff helpful and friendly. Free WiFi, though reception could be chancy in old stone walls. Restaurant looked good, but pricier than our budget allowed. AND Sarlat is totally charming though not Disneyesque. Try to... More

We have stayed at La Couleuvrine many times over the years and they are splendidly consistent in their delivery of an excellent product. Their rooms are charming and never disappoint if you don't place unfair expectations on your experience. They are, after all, just a two star establishment. There is a wonderful restaurant in the hotel and the entire package... More

This hotel is right on the edge of the medieval centre of Sarlat. It is a converted chateau, and has managed to retain the feeling of a fortress while being a comfortable hotel. We stayed in a mini-suite, which had two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. All was perfectly arranged and clean, the welcome was warm and the staff very... More

We came here for the market on Saturday and this hotel is in a perfect position in the old town from which to launch an attack on all of the goodies available. The hotel itself is lovely but the rooms dated and a bit small. We were on the third floor and there was no wi-fi reception at that level.... More

The hotel was quite beautiful and when I was shown my small single/double room I was entranced by the beauty of it. The hotel is very well located for an easy walk into the city centre. I had a half board - breakfast was plentiful and varied and very fresh, but I didn't feel a great sense of welcome in... More

We really enjoyed our stay at La Couleuvrine and would recommend others to stay at this hotel if visiting the Dordogne region. First, Sarlat is in the middle of all the attractions such as Rocamadour. Second, within Sarlat, La Couleuvrine is on the edge of medieval town, with the rest of the town within walking distance. Dinner at the restaurant... More

We stayed two nights at the La Coulverine, paying E116 per night for a suite large enough for a family of four. We had a fair experience. The hotel is located right on the edge of the medieval town (the old ramparts) and our room was on the third floor, with two rooms. A very large main room with a... More

We chose La Couleuvrine for its location in the old medieval town of Sarlat. We were a group of 20 Aussies, old friends, and we stayed 3 nights. We loved this hotel, it had a great location right on the edge of the Old Town, a quaint old building that we thought was a bit like stepping back a few... More
