We stayed at Hotel Augusta for our Honeymoon in August, booked via TUI.. The hotel was in a perfect location for us. We loved having a mountain view room overlooking Monte Baldo and the cable car - was brilliant being able to sit on the large balcony and watch the cable car or paragliders. It was an easy walk for us (could be more challenging if you had mobility issues) to the restaurants, osterias, gelaterias, shops, bus station and the ferry but was far enough away to feel calm and peaceful. The room itself was a good size, simply furnished and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of breads, cakes, fruits plus cheese, meats, cereal, yogurt etc and the coffee machine made pretty good drinks too. You could even make your own smoothie. The pool area was a peaceful oasis with lovely trees and a view of the castle. Lay on your sunlounger you could look up and watch the paragliders descending. Even though we were there in the August holiday week for Italians and the hotel was busy there was always still plenty of space to sit/lay available at the pool area. The only slight downsides that prevented me giving a five star rating were that on the days when we went on excursions to Verona and to The Dolomites we had to be at the bus station to be picked up at 8 am and because breakfast at the hotel didn’t start till 8 this created a little issue. We asked at reception if we could get a sort of packed lunch style breakfast on these days but they suggested calling into the breakfast area just before we left and take what we like from what had been laid out. The problem was that what had been put out at that time wasn’t very portable. The other minor issue was that although the bathroom was of a good size the shower itself was quite small and I kept banging myself on the fittings. Overall, these minor points don’t detract from this being an excellent hotel but are just little things that could be improved.

Wow.....we stayed at the hotel for a week as part of a TUI lakes and mountains package holiday. The room was exactly as described - double room with balcony and mountain view. You looked out onto the mountain and cable car. The room had shutters and air conditioning as well as a mini fridge to store and cool drinks.perfect! Breakfast selection was amazing and regularly topped up - cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, cold meats, cheeses, teas, coffees, juices, breads, pastries etc ..set you up nicely for the day. You could sit outside on the balcony or inside. The pool and facilties for a small, family run hotel were ideal. Drinks and snacks were available and no more expensive than you would pay in town. Exceptionally clean throughout and staff were very helpful. Brilliant location for the lake, town, cable car, ferries etc Excellent value for money and would recommend without hesitation.

This was our 3rd visit to Augusta Hotel. Spotlessly clean hotel. Staff and family are lovely. Excellent variety at breakfast. Best scrambled egg ever! Beautiful indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Reasonable bar prices with drinks served by the very helpful Ricardo. Location is perfect for the town. Really can't fault this hotel. Will definitely return soon.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst visiting for a friend's wedding. The hotel is clean and has a good sized pool. Our room was basic but exactly what we needed. Aircon is available over night and we had a good sized balcony which allowed us to look at the town and mountains. At night, this view was stunning aswell. We were right opposite the cable car and a 4 min walk to the town. Everything is within walking distance to this hotel. We also really enjoyed the breakfast provided which was plentiful and slightly different each day. I would definitely stay here again.

Just back from a lovely week in malcesine and the Augusta Hotel. We were initially hesitant at booking here due to the lack of up to date reviews but we really had nothing to worry about. The hotel is beautiful with views of both the mountain and the lake. Our room was number 45 and it was lovely. We were directly accross from the cable car and would only know it was there by the sound of the tourists visiting it. The beds were clean and comfortable. Extra pillow was available in wardrobe. There was a safe and empty mini bar which u could stock up from the spar shop down the road. Lovely balcony to sit out and people watch. Breakfast was a lovely continental with a large variety of choice. The hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool with a sauna and jacuzzi. As we were getting picked up early on our last morning the hotel very kindly left a tray of goodies in our room the night before so we didn’t miss breakfast prior to leaving. Very nice touch. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is about 200 metres from the centre of town on a slight hill however if you struggle with this hill you will struggle with a lot of streets in the town as it is very hilly but extremely beautiful and full of history. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely return to the Augusta on our return trip.

We made the Hotel Augusta our vacation home for two wonderful weeks last September. We were traveling from the United States with our senior parents who had a room on the ground level near the outdoor pool. We had a room on the top floor of the main hotel with great side views of Monte Baldo, the cable car, and overlooking Malcesine with the lake and surrounding mountains. The location is great and only takes a few minutes to walk to the historic center of Malcesine and the cable car is conveniently located across the street. The hotel includes free parking, nice outdoor areas, and a nice swimming pool which we didn’t have time to enjoy. We chose to stay in Malcesine because of its central location on the east side of the lake. It was definitely one of the nicer resort areas around the lake. The town is charming with lots of small streets with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Malcesine does have more hills than some of the other towns so if that is a concern you may want to stay at the south end of the lake where the ground is flat. We took many day trips to towns around the lake and some further trips to places like Modena and also North to the South Tyrol area. Our parents even scheduled a day trip to Venice on a bus which conveniently picked them up and returned them to the bus station in Malcesine. The staff was also very kind and helpful throughout our trip. Our ability to speak Italian and German is limited but we were able to communicate without any problems. The hotel and rooms were very clean with fresh towels and linens provided as necessary. People have mentioned that the beds are uncomfortable - they are firm - but we found them to be quite comfortable. Our parents room (near the pool) was also nice and had a large walk in shower instead of a smaller one like our hotel room. The breakfast was very nice and included a wide assortment of foods including cereals, yogurts, eggs, fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads, meats, etc. They also offer a coffee machine that makes various hot beverages, they provide fruit juice, and also have a fresh juice machine to make your own drink. You can eat breakfast inside or outside on one of the sunny terraces. People have also commented about the noise however when we were they in Mid-September it was not too noisy. The hotel was very full for several nights but people seemed to be courteous and not make too much noise. We were able to keep our doors and windows closed at night so we didn’t even notice any road or traffic noise. We would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again. The Benedetti family are very nice people and you can tell that they care about the hotel and their customers.

If you stay here and are noise sensitive make sure you book a lake view not a mountain and cable car view. The hotel staff are effiecent and friendly and the hotel is wonderfully clean. The buffet style breakfast is varied but could improve the quality of some of the items offered, my main bug bare is that i do not like watered down juices, fresh juice is much prefered and the cost to the hotel cannot be that severe. The butter used for toast is unusual and the tea is not very nice. The beds are much harder than we would prefer but we would stay again but in a different room as the traffic noise wakes you very early.

*** hotel, a perfectly clean and comfortable, friendly hotel with an unheated outdoor pool and indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Towels provided. 5 minutes walk into Malcesine. Situated almost opposite the Monte Baldo funicular cable car. No restaurant, but snacks available. Lots of choice for breakfast, including some fresh fruit, and a blender for making your own health drink. Outside terrace, but limited indoor seating- no lounge as such. Staff helpful and friendly. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Booked since it had so good recommendations online but they must be fake. The service was terrible, there is no air conditioner and the beds are rock hard, it was like lying on the floor. And the room was not clean, I will book something else next time.

Booked as part of a TUI package, upgraded to a lake view when booking. Also paid the 6 euros per night for the air conditioning. The family were very friendly and our stay was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. The hotel was in a fantastic position for the cable cars, the town, restaurants/cafes, shops and the castle. Everything within walking distance. The only 2 small points I would mention, that in no way would put me off staying here again, and is just useful feedback to the owners - the air conditioning was only available 6pm until 6.30am. Every morning it woke us up and the rooms got pretty hot, pretty quickly and we had to open the windows, so it was like an unwelcome alarm call. It would have been nicer to have the air con on until at least 7.30am. Our balcony (we were in Room 45) adjoined another room and there was no divider to give privacy which made it quite awkward when we were all on our balconies. I noticed that other rooms had glass dividers, but we were on the side of the hotel, overlooking the cable car entrance and side view to the lake. They could not have sold the room next to us as a lake view if a glass divider had been put up, so I am guessing this is why there was no divider, but in my view this is for their monetary gain and not in the customer's interest. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely stay in this resort and this hotel again.
