We stayed at Antico Casale while attending a book fair in Bologna, and booked based upon reviews on this site. The hotel fairly clean, but that is all. Rooms are ok, but pretty uncomfortable. At 100 euro/night (almost $140 USD!!), it is a rip off.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful - checked with the excellent restaurant next door to see what vegeatarian meals were offered. The room we had was terrific and the breakfast was brilliant, infact the best coffee I have tasted this year! and oh the cakes....
