Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The host was the loveliest woman ever! She was soo accommodating around late check in (We had had to travel to Scotland from Leeds after work meaning we arrived at 10pm). The room was lovely and clean and bed was super comfy….. I slept like a log. The toilet and bathroom was downstairs and also nice and clean. To say it was a working farm it was very quiet and we slept wonderfully. Breakfast was included (something that is not always offered these day) and we were kindly asked to pick our own time….. and we were well fed with a smile 😊 The location is off the beaten track and ideal if you want some peace and quiet, and I don’t think you could ask for a more friendly and welcoming host. I will definitely be returning.

A bit out of the way but set in some great countryside so only the odd farm vehicle to disturb you. My error in booking this accomodation as when I read the description read 1 bathroom as part of our room/booking I took this as En-suite. Thankfully we were the only guest so the dowstairs bathroom & toilet was not a deal breaker for our stay as we have never stayed anywhere with a shared bathroom. No handrail on the stairs made it hard work for me getting up and down stairs and again as the only toilet being downstairs was a pain and when the other rooms are used this would make it an uncomfortable stay. We were the first guests since lockdown 2020 and the room smelt damp which went after the first day & leaving the windows open over night as room was nice & warm. The dining room would have been an oportunity had there been more guests as there was only one large table for 10 people and set aside CV19 we would not want to share a table with other guests. The landlady was fantastic & could not have made our stay any more enjoyable, she was welcoming, friendly & helpful and her breakfast was a perfect start to the day. The room were clean and well maintained but needs an en-suite, personally this B&B lends it self for a Family stay over multiple guests so they can enjoly the full use of the house.

Extremely warm and friendly welcome; excellent accommodation and plenty to eat for breakfast; only downside for elderly people is that the bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms. Further signage from main road to show how far down lane could be helpful

Stayed here for 3 nights, lovely spacious room, it was a shared bathroom but we knew this when we booked and it didn’t matter to us. There was a lounge that we also used instead of staying in our room. Lynda the host was so lovely and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, it was really quiet and had no trouble sleeping. The full cooked breakfasts were amazing too. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Highly underrated . This is a quality countryside location offering everything from top hospitality to clean comfortable accommodation . Lynda went out her way to make sure everything went smoothly during my stay. Excellent tea and coffee making facilities and a breakfast that would rival any top hotel . I will definitely be returning when I visit the area again.😊

Stayed overnight here on 21st October as I had business to see go in Mauchline the next day. I had booked a single room but because I was the only one there Linda moved me into a double room which also had a single bed. Double bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. In the morning I had breakfast which consisted of cereal, juice, fruit, toast and tea as I did not want a fry up. I certainly recommend Dykefield Farm

Thoroughly enjoyed a 2 night stay here at the start of April. Large, warm and comfy rooms and great breakfast! The guesthouse is located on a working farm and how we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the views. Hope to come back again.

This B&B is an actual working farm. Off the beaten track. To find it you'll need to look for a small farm road between Mauchlin and Kilmarnock. Going from Mauchline look to your right. I found it with difficulties, at night time, in a pouring rain. However, the owner - Lynda was very helpful, patiently giving me directions and offering to meet me on the main road. The room I got was a huge family room - very comfortable. The bathroom is shared, but there was no queue ever. I stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast can be ordered depending on what you like and what time you want it. It is not just any B&B. I'd reccommend it for people looking for a stay in a very quiet, remote area. Also who don`t mind smells and noises of a working farm ;) Owner Lynda - very friendly and helpful person!

Stayed at this B&B last weekend. It proved an excellent find. The welcome was friendly, the room we stayed in was really good with a very comfortable bed and plenty of space. The location was handy, being just a couple of minutes from the historic town of Mauchline and a short drive from the coast too. Breakfast each morning was really nicely done. Overall fantastic value and we will definitely stay again whenever we are visiting this area of Scotland.
