Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The warm west of Ireland welcome you get at this hotel was lovely. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The chowder is delicious. The bar area was comfortable. The room was adequate for a short stay. There is onsite free parking. A quick and easy check in and check out experience.

While visiting the rally in the area, stopped of for a bit of grub and boy was it an exceptional experience. We had the beef on mash chomp with gravy over it and it was soo tender and the mash was soo creamy , you could drink it, most enjoyable. And the staff , each and everyone was so pleasant they do the hospitality sector and make you proud to be Irish. Must definitely pencil a longer visit to Headford in the future and make this a base to enjoy the ambience and food further. Thanks again team .

Anglers restaurant in Headford Co Galway. Open on a bank holiday I got the chowder and Brie starters. Shared duck spring roll from my wife. The chowder was very good. The Brie was in a tart shell and on top of greens and had a balsamic vinegar dressing. Very good. The duck spring rolls were also good. Guinness zero is ok The service was a bit slow but we were a table of 8 and the place was reasonably busy. We all said we would go again.

Went there for a family breakfast as we leave near and decided to have breakfast out. After 30 minutes I was still waiting for my food. Went to ask and was told that they were just coming. 40 minutes went and asked once again for my food, was told that they don't know , you didn't order from me, etc, and suddenly was on he way...50 minutes without breakfast and a proper explanation so decided to leave the hotel starved and not looking forward to coming back

€360 for 3 nights bed & breakfast (when eventually you get it). Separate scaled back menu for paying residents with limited choices versus much wider choices for walk-in customers. I don't like leaving bad reviews so I won't say any more!!!

An absolute kip. Writing this review as I am lying on the most uncomfortable cheap spring matress in a room that smells like dead rat and cigarettes. There is a power generator on at all times too. Can't sleep and I'm up in less than 2 hours to go to work. Bar and food it's OK but I wouldn't recommend the hotel accommodation. Disgusting!

In the heart of the tiny, miniscule, town of Headford, is this little jewel with a beautiful staff, lovely food, and fun pub. The hotel has been in existence since 1905, so the rooms are a bit dated, a bit tired, but very comfortable. I'd stay there again.

We stopped in for dinner and was wonderfully surprised to eat a great chicken curry. Football was playing so of course we stayed longer to enjoy 2 games. Our waitress was FABULOUS knowing that they were short staffed. Thank you Anglers Rest.

Had a recent weekend at Angler’s and as a family of three we had a two adjoining rooms and two bathrooms. Couldn’t have asked for better. Clean and warm rooms. Bar was busy Sat night and I think a band was setting up. We never heard a thing from our room. Had breakfast both mornings. Great selection. I really enjoyed my smashed avocado and poached eggs on sourdough yum 👌🏼 Super friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would stay again gladly. Thanks Frank! Sinéad Mitchell
