Stayed for 2 nights with a group of biker friends. Room was comfortable and public areas very cosy. An elusive red squirrel was seen from the lounge area. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Don't go there however if you are on a diet!!. The food is delicious and the portions extremely generous. Relaxing and hope to retun soon.... More

Having read the previous reviews on here, I can only reiterate everything that has already been said. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Caroline, we were made to feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Our wee cairn terrier was also treated like royalty! We had room 12, which had lovely views, was very... More

Hello Mrs Veall! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I will pass your wonderful comments onto the team who will be thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. We're so glad the big group didn't affect the service. Sometimes they can just due to the sheer size, but the girls worked hard to ensure this didn't... More

I am not sure I can write this review and get down all the superlatives it deserves. I will start with the welcome we received from "Caroline" she was an angel with a permanent smile and a most professional manner, she was so helpful and nothing was too much of an effort. She was well supported by Jen and Steph... More

This was our first trip into the Scottish Highlands and I really enjoyed our visit. We did the dinner, bed and breakfast deal which worked out very well for us. I had guessed that there would be nowhere else to eat walking distance and this was indeed the case. There were supplements on some of the things on the menu,... More

In a near-idyllic location by a rushing river, and convenient for trips around the Scottish Highlands, this is a wonderfully relaxing place to spend a few days. We especially enjoyed a dawn chorus in early June which began with nightingales in the very early dawn - a truly wonderful experience and I was annoyed the one morning I slept through... More

Very impressive. Welcoming, well-stocked bar, amazing food, clean rooms. Lovely restaurant / conservatory, great beer garden, cosy bar area. Right on the Cateran Trail. Our only problems were the TV only having 3 channels (but there's 1 with Sky TV in the drawing room downstairs), the room was very hot and the fan in the kitchen below was noisy from... More

First impressions count and staff were fantastic from the minute we arrived. Food is superb and weather was great which all contributed to a fine couple of days. Dog friendly too. Recommend the cullen skink and the venison casserole

Loved this hotel, the staff are professional and enthusiastic, food excellent and plentiful, and it is in a great location. The room was big enough for us and our medium to largish dog, along with her bed. Unfortunately the mattress was old and uncomfortable (feels as if all the wadding has worn out);therefore I felt every bone contacting the mattress!... More
