What can I say..... This is the most friendly, hospitable place to stay. Andrew and Sonia are the best hosts and will do anything for you and the breakfast is brilliant. We are coming back that's a promise and wish it was sooner than November. Ps best poached eggs xx

Andrew and Sonia provided a very comfortable room to help us rest and get ready for our big 84 mile walk across England. They suggested some areas to explore and places to eat the night before we left. The breakfast was delicious and filled us up with enough fuel to walk 21 miles.

Very tidy place. Bikes stored safely, good advice on the local food and beer. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast and they organised the taxi for us to the station. I would definitely use this B&B again.

We walked Hadrian's Wall west to east ending here at Oaktree Lodge. This is a wonderful way to end your walk. I would recommend adding another day just to relax and enjoy the area. Pleasant property and friendly welcome, would have no hesitation in recommending for a weekend in WB! Close enough to the front and the beach but thankfully a street or two far enough away from all the bars and clubs.

I'm echoing what many others have said. Oaktree Lodge is warm, cosy, comfortable and clean. Nice, well equipped room, and a comfortable bed. There's a very nice downstairs lounge and bar area too. Lovely B & B High points: Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, quality dry cured bacon at breakfast, and warm- even on the coldest of nights. Why not excellent? No shelf space and tiniest wash basin very difficult for shaving in en suite bathroom. Also no fresh fruit at breakfast
