PROS- My club has stayed here twice during the Easter athletics festival. Basic, clean and in an excellent location right on Douglas front and 2 mins from the ferry terminal. Both times the owner and staff have been lovely to us- have let us borrow a bike, only asked politely that we dont get facepaint on the towels instead of... More

I stayed here for 9 nights during the Manx GP week. It was all it needed to be, the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and welcoming. I had a really pleasant stay and would recommend it to anyone, as a place to sleep, watch bikes and explore the IOM.

Second time stayed here both times for a lads weekend away. It's fine and clean throughout. Very dated typical old seaside bb. Very close to ferry port. Nice fella who owns it and a good breakfast. We paid 60 for a room which is as much as you would pay but we think it's ok for what is essentially a... More

The other reviews are spot on. It's a bit if a tired hotel but spotless clean, very good location, nice breakfast and the guy who runs it was great. Don't stay there if you are looking for luxury but for somewhere to stay for the night which is clean and tidy then this was just great for what I needed... More

We went as part of a motorbike group for the May bank holiday weekend. I'll be honest. If I had chosen a place to stay this wouldn't have been top of my list but then I'd have probably paid too much elsewhere. The hotel is an old seaside resort hotel but it's good basic accommodation. The staff were very nice... More

When I arrived in Douglas (coming from Liverpool, via Steampacket), I leaved the port and started walking on the Promenade, and Sugarland was the first hotel I saw. As I wanted to stay in a place near the port, I decided to take a look. The owners and the staff were extremely friendly (always a good signal), so I elected... More
