Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions now while on business. Eventually I hope on pleasure. I am always filled with trepidation when I stay at a business class hotel as I have experienced the good, the bad and the downright ugly. And price and notional star ratting is no guarantee of quality as I have found out the hard way on many an occasion. For a change I am going to list the negatives first. The look from the outside is a cross between a prison and a University halls of Residence. While they cannot do anything about it, not exactly a romantic location. It is a bit of a route march from the reception to many of the rooms. It could do with a makeover and adding a few lifts or ramps. Not everyone can lug a suitcase up those flights of steps. The room was comfortable. Bed OK. Not the best but neither was it the worst. I had plenty of area to work and it was quiet and private. The food in the restaurant was standard bar food. Filled a gap really. I think the breakfast was the food highlight of the day. I am allergic to gluten and I found it particularly good there was a "firewall" between the GF food and the standard stuff. Even a quarantined toaster just for GF bread. Best part was the staff and the service. They managed that "goldilocks" zone. Efficient enough to be effective. But unhurried enough to be charming and friendly. For the first time at a business hotel I felt welcomed rather than "processed". Particular shout out to Tash, Jess and Heidi, the breakfast servers. I had a very difficult bit of business to do this time and you managed to put me completely at my ease. I have to travel to Stoke on Trent at least once a month. If there is a room available this will be my go to place. If there isn't a room available I will re-arrange the trip!!! I am going to be in stoke

Hotel's Favourite
We had a lovely 2 night stay, room was very clean, nice and modern. There were nice little touches like complimentary deodorant as we forgot ours and biscuits when our room was cleaned. Also cold water with lemon to help yourself to at reception. The only thing was the reception was often unmanned and I was charged an additional £50 incase we ordered room service or ordered anything from the bar, which I should receive back in a few days.

Checked in and the staff are friendly and helpful. Had to change rooms as the first smelled like a toilet. The big no no for me is the restaurant. No menus - they give you a pathetic little tablet and you are suddenly a MacDonalds customer having to order on that. No full menu to read, just stupid little buttons on R2D2 Will not stay again - I like to be treated like a human being, not an android

This is a somewhat basic Holiday Inn but a good one. All staff are friendly, efficient and seem happy. The rooms are more than adequate for a stay such as ours, (visiting Stoke for a football match, with friends and family) and the whole place is clean and tidy. The bar area is spacious and welcoming and the breakfast is excellent. We shall definitely stay here again!

Excellent Staff We stayed overnight on 1st December. The hotel was very busy with "Party Nights" Samir from reception made sure that we were looked after no matter how busy he was and even made sure that our dog Lily had a sausage! The rest of the reception staff were really great too. We came for breakfast on Sunday morning and the greeter in the restaurant was excellent very attentive. A brilliant overnight stop. Oh and the room was spotless.

Very close to M6 this hotel offers nice rooms, good rooms, an indoor pool and gym which was empty , so we had a nice swim. The whirlpool was out of action. Breakfast was extensive . Although it looks a bit tired from the outside , can’t complain about indoor facilities.
