First impressions - good parking and large, welcoming entrance vestibule. However closer inspection of the outside revealed much in need of renovation and repair. Appearance of being newly refurbished the bedrooms are adequate rather than sumptuous but the food in the restaurant is more than adequate. Have just spent a weekend here. Good food and accomodation and very helpful staff. Situated in the pretty place of Bideford which is a beautiful area of Devon. Have visited this hotel at least four times and as always enjoy staying in this lovely old house with a character of its own. Will visit again

Recently returned from Just Go holiday to the above hotel. Just Go were excellent, our driver Bob couldn't do enough for us, extremely caring. 4th holiday with this company and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Hotel very good with waiter service for breakfast and evening meal, food very good and always hot.

Very strange atmosphere. Dodgy decor. Lack of attention to detail. It was evident that money had been spent on flash stuff but then in the foyer there are exposed pipes and cheap looking decorations. Their website is very misleading.
