Having researched many hotels in this area, The Thatched cottage seemed to be excellent value and it exceeded our expectations. The food and service was fantastic and the menu had an excellent choice for both dinner and breakfast. We stayed for 1 night, the accommodation is very cute and cosy, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it so. The bed was a little small in the room we had but not enough to spoil the stay. The rooms in the new build are also close enough that you can hear each other.... More

Went here for an evening meal. Six of us ate. Starters were a mixed bag, 'chilli jam' turned out to be sweet chilli dipping sauce from a bottle. Raw salad was good. The old cottage is really quirky and the new building has been recently refurbished and the rooms are of a really high standard. (think it is still being done for some rooms). The rooms are quirky and quaint. Owners were very friendly and could not do enough to help you. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, possibly on of the beat that we have ever had. However please note that in the evening the dining room becomes a tapas bar and not a traditional restaurant.

My partner and I have just spent 3 wonderful days at the cottage. We stayed in the Assam Bop room and it was lovely. Really comfortable bed and great toiletries in the ensuite bathroom.
