What a lovely welcome, the staff were fantastic. My 94 year old mother is virtually blind, very deaf and can hardly walk and the staff were extremely professional and helpful. The set menu had a good selection of different dishes and I could not fault the food or value for money. The communal areas are very cosy. One small improvement... More

We had an extra 2 nights to stay in Scotland and found a good deal at the Roman Camp. It was lovely - room excellent, clean and comfortable. Hotel luxurious with wood fires burning throughout. Grounds worth investigating - staff helpful. The evening meal was very good, well cooked and well presented. The only negative was the breakfast, which was... More

We love going to the Roman Camp in Callander for lunches. The food is delicious and plentiful with amuse bouches, and petit fours/tea&coffee included in the reasonable price tag! The choices are wonderful - always a hard decision. The hotel is tastefully furnished with traditional furniture and a variety of fires - log and gas. The setting of the hotel... More

We recently got married here, we love it. The food is fantastic, the character is warm and comforting. When looking for our wedding venue we were advised by another hotel manager that in Scotland it rains 80% of the time, so plan for rain and be suprised if it's nice. So we did, and within 2 strides of entering "The... More

Love this hotel. Hidden away in Callendar and the minute I arrive here I feel relaxed and ready to chill. Food is fantastic. Decor very traditional and old charm and I could snuggle up on the settees in front of the fire and read a book without feeling I was in a hotel. I love the romance of the old... More

We got married here in 2009 and decided to have a night away to experience the hotel without wedding stress! Many of our guest still comment on the hotel and especially the dinner, which was fantastic! This time we stayed in a refurbished room (I've added a picture as it is one mentioned previously) It was lovely although still waiting... More

We had afternoon tea in their dramatically decorated drawing room. Huge comfy chairs with an open fire (albeit gas). Sandwiches were delicious, some tasty enough cakes and slices but in Scotland, you really can't get away with poor shortbread! At £14 a head it was a bit steep but fun all the same. Beautiful surroundings with good service. Follow it... More

My husband and I took the opportunity of a special offer. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the duty manager and reception staff. We couldn't have been happier with the room we were given (South) although the carpet could have done with a clean but that is a very minor observation. The little touches of quality toiletries, bathrobes, mineral... More

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times now and have not been disappointed on any of our visits. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The rooms we have stayed in have been spotless and cosy. The dining experience is amazing, Ian McNaught is a fantastic chef. I have twice eaten foods I do not usually like when I... More
