My husband and I stayed there 14-15th June 2012. We had a wonderful room, very spacious and very clean. The Manager Derek was very attentive and always remembered our names. We had excellent waitresses Lucy and Natalie who served our wonderful meals. The hotel is full of history which is why we chose it. Will definitely go back hopefully in... More

Stayed for one night which was very enjoyable. Lots of history with this place dating back to civil war (English one !) The restaurant had extensive selection and was exceptional value. Great draught beers to choose from in the bar. Breakfast was also good. Bed nice and comfy, only had a shower with our room. Within easy access to Blenheim... More

We visited The Red Lion for 4 nights from the 13th - 18th May 2013. We have used Old English Inns before and found them to be good value for money. The food was excellent and reasonable, service second to none and the staff were so helpful it was a pleasurable experience overall. The only downside was our particular room... More

Thank you so much for your kind comments about the service and value of the Old English Inns, and can only apologise that our rooms were not up to size but as you mentioned the building is old the first registered landlord is listed and this was done in 1669, what they were thinking of when they built the rooms... Have been staying at the Red Lion since September last year till the end of May. I have stayed in every room and have eaten at the Red Lion most event. Without question this is my favorite place to stay in the Oxford region. Derek and his staff are some of the nicest, kindest and helpful staff you could come across... More

stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks ago.Had room 15 at the back of the hotel, so very peaceful, beautiful blossom tree right outside the window. Room was quite small, but as we stay in old english inns quite often were prepared for this as they are old buildings! Couple of small gripes with the room though, only... More

Thank you for letting us know how great the team are, they will be pleased to hear that you enjoyed their hospitality. However we are disappointed that our room did not meet with your expectations, interestingly enough our Divisional manager did mention that we need to put in a bed side table so this is being looked into. This is the third time we have stayed & it did not disappoint. The village of Adderbury is fabulous & within half an hours drive to Oxford. The hotel is a beautifully preserved `olde worlde` inn with some charming features. Our room was light & spacious with a double shower. Manager & staff so friendly & obliging & meals were... More

We only stayed overnight to avoid Bank Holiday Monday on M25 but we were pleased with the value and service offered. The menu was very varied, a sure sign of prepackaged meals, but nicely presented and fine for the price (£10 each approx). We got B&B for £60 (less than rack rate) so it is worth asking for best deal.... More

thank you for your comments, indeed room eight is quirky originally a hay loft, so we have managed to fit a room and a huge bath room into this space, and I do agree if you have problems with stairs this room is not ideal however we have alot of other rooms and each has it's own individual charms as... We embarked on a trip around England/Scotland on 5 May. The first night was spent in the Red Lion Hotel. Lovely venue, old quirky pub, harrow staircase - but we were told about this on arrival. We had room 12 (I think). small but perfectly clean and comfortable - overlooking the front of the hotel/pub. Only issue we had with... More
