My wife and I stayed here overnight for a concert last week. We booked directly with The Hotel rather than use Latebookers because the owner stated that the Latebookers price only related to two nights or more. We asked for, and got, a quiet(ish) room and my request for feather pillows was met. The Hotel is certainly convenient for The... More

First I'd like to say that from start to finish, the customer service was exceptional. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the room decor was rather dated and would benefit from some painting and new flooring (the carpet was stained in multiple places). As dogs are allowed at this establishment, there was quite a bit of... More

Just stayed one night and although the bed was comfortable, the rest of the room was a bit depressing with an old tv not able to get a radio programme. Shower was a trickle and grout was all black in places, paint has been peeling off and then just overpainted. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good, in... More

whenever i read other peoples reviews I always exclude the best and the worst. then i make up my own mind based on the others on whether i will stay there. this hotel is what you would expect from a traditional town hotel that is family run. the most important thing for me is that the staff are friendly and... This hotel is in a great location situated in a quiet road, a very pleasant walk through the park takes you to the Opera House. The hotel is a lovely building from the outside but is very dated once you get inside. The reception is a cramped, tiny counter in the corner of a small hallway. The lounge area seems... More

I'm perplexed by the majority of reviews about this hotel which are very complementary. My views I'm afraid are very much the opposite. We were checked in efficiently and told where our room was. Room 209, tucked away up a narrow staircase in the eaves. First impressions were disappointing. Tired, wood-chip wallpaper, drab and depressing. Second impressions were no better.... More

A friend and I stayed here for three nights. We really enjoyed our stay, all the staff were friendly and the meals[ breakfast and dinner] were well presented and tasty. The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. The only fault was the bathroom which needed updating, the tile grouting needed renewing, the shower curtain was torn and when... More

Very friendly and welcoming staff, rooms a little small but with excellent facilities. The hotel is set in a great location handy for the town centre, the gardens and the Opera House. Breakfast is included and is individually cooked for you, and the evening meals are better than many of Bustons restaurants. We keep coming back to this hoitel and... More
