Lovely B & B, full of character as its an old building but watch out if you are tall, as the beams and doors in some rooms are very low and intrusive. Its very easy to bang your head ! That said, everything is clean and tidy and the breakfast is great, though beans would be a welcome addition to... More

The Rest for the Tired is pure cosiness. It was warm, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Bed nice & firm, breakfast lovely and great value for money. Mary & John, the owners, were very welcoming and made you feel at home. Loved the nooks and crannies like the old beams and crooked stairs, which added to its charm. Good parking. It... More

Enjoyed a fantastic nights stay at Rest for the Tired B&B. I found the room to be very spacious, clean and comfortable... Which represented great value for money. The cooked breakfast was delicious and Mary, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. This B&B comes highly recommended.

Wonderful little b&b! Had everything my partner and I needed for a weekend away in hay-on-wye! Situated above a pretty bookshop and next to a famous river!! Breakfast was lovely although I'd preferred more choice in what we could and couldn't have as we didn't get much choice in what we had, but it was still lovely great value and... More

A charming and welcoming B&B above one of Hay's famous book shops. The particularly comfortable beds were very welcome after a hard day of cycling.

A step back in time. Reminded me of living in a Dickens novel. The house is very old and quaint so in some respects it was an interesting experience to stay there.A bit of a struggle up the stairs (mind you head because when this house was built people were a foot shorter!). The room was very good as was the... More

Stayed for two nights. Great breakfast, we really appreciated sharing the dining table with other guests and not as usual being seated at separate tables. Rooms were a bit cold, was not possible to get them heated either (if this had been fixed a higher score would be certain).

We booked a mid week break with another couple at the end of August based on Trip Adviser reviews and were not disappointed. The accommodation was very good and the hospitality excellent. The only thing you need to be aware of is that the two rooms at the top of the house have very low doorways and you have to... More

Myself and four friends stayed for 2 nights, 3 minutes walk from the town centre and over one of the bookstores. you might bump your head a few times on the original beams but it's worth it for the great rooms and if you don't fancy that they have a new extension. good breakfast and nice owners and you can't... Before we booked we checked the webpages, which stated that Double B&B was £50-£55 a night per room. On booking I was told by email that the prices had been increased to £60 for the last 6 months and the web desogner had not changed the pages. As we were struggling to find accommodation at short notice in Hay, I... More
