I find it hard to put my finger on what was missing here, but it was probably atmosphere. This was underlined by the dullest bar I have ever been in. The decor is a little tired, and the furniture a strange mixture. The staff were all lovely, however, and the bistro food was excellent. So not all bad !

An average hotel , run on a skeleton staff , hotel was clean , pleasant rooms , basic breakfast I would rate it as satisfactory. Hotel in a great location for local tourist attractions. Nothing special.

Recently stayed at the Swan Hotel using a Groupon voucher. Good position in the town. Hotel feeling was very relaxed and not over fussy. Stayed for two nights, service was excellent, food in the evening was outstanding, but the first morning breakfast could of been a bit warmer, we mentioned to the staff and the next day it was piping hot. Room was small but comfortable.
