We called in to see if rooms were available and managed to grab the last room. Excellent room overlooking greenery, a fantastic size with a double and single bed, plenty of room for little ones to play and two chairs in front of flat screen tv. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate in room, with fresh milk and water available in a... More

A group of have been visiting Scarborough for a Rotary Conference. We booked to stay at the Earlsmere and were delighted with everything. Richard and Jarlath could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It is comfortable, warm and attractive with attention given to all the details. We would very much recommend the Earlsmere to potential visitors to Scarborough.

Having stayed here for a few days in the summer to see old friends in the town, literally a couple of weeks after Richard and Jarlath took over from the previous owners, I was looking forward to a return visit to see how they were making their mark on the place. The Earlsmere is welcoming and very comfortable and R... More

We booked ages in advance of a special trip to Yorkshire so were a little taken aback when greeted by a Richard having spoken a Lynne. We need not have been concerned as this change of ownership seems to have nothing to detract from the excellence of the Earlsmere. Richard and Jarlath are hosts on a mission to provide a... More

We have just returned from a great weekend staying at the Earlsmere. As with a couple of other recent contributors, we have stayed a few times before under the previous ownership and always thought it a top place. But to underline their experiences, we too give the new team a big “thumbs up”. In a matter of a few months... More

Stayed at the Earlsmere for several years and found it very, very comfortable. Was a bit apprehensive when new owners took over but it proved better than ever. Richard is a brilliant cook and the evening meals were soooooo delicious. Breakfasts good too. In a brilliant position and the best we've found in Scarborough. Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed at the Earlsmere at the beginning August for a 5 night break. Richard and jarlath could not have been better hosts, the room (No:2 the former drawing room) was spacious with a large bathroom and was very comfortable and very clean. At breakfast the food was well cooked and very tasty. If we had to pick a fault... More

After attending the Opening Ceremony for summer Olympics, we opted to rent a car the next day and "just drive". Although we had rented a GPS, we had no real plan...we simply drove north. Upon arriving in Scarborough, we parked and started exploring the city. Since we had no hotel reseservation, we asked a local shop owner for suggestions. She... More

Lovely relaxing homely B & B. Very welcoming and charming owners, our room was of a high standard and had a great mix of some nice period features with an overall contempory look and comfort. Nice details (no UHT 'milk' tubs!) and I suspect more new touches to come as we were informed that they'd only just taken over the... More
