The hotel is good value for the money. Some lovely features , the staircase is beautiful. We had a lovely room no 14 in the conservatory. Sea view and lovely big windows with a spa bath couldn't fault it. Some of our group wern't so lucky with their room ,there were a few complaints about having no windows. The food... More

we were a party of 12 who booked the "ROCK AND ROLL THEMED WEEKEND " the internet advertising was colourful and looked like it would and should be a great weekend, I say should because we paid £135 each for 3 nights bed breakfast evening meal and full entertainment. At the time we thought that was a really good price... More

Many people pay an affordable price to stay here and expect 5* luxury. Well dont. You will get a clean room with a very comfortable bed. Good food but not Michelin... More

I booked a twin online, check in was straight forward and I was quite please with the complimentary wine. The room was one without windows, which is ok because it clearly states about windowless rooms on the website. Even though it was dark, the room was lovley. Cosy and well kept with a good standard of cleanliness. It has all... More

We booked our first stay at the Grand after seeing it on one of Michael Portillo's railway journey programmes. Built in the shape of a 'V' to honour queen Victoria is a building like they just don't make any longer! Fantastic wide staircases, vaulted ceilings and the hotel even has its own Victorian theatre. Apparently when it was built it... More

We booked th hotel and then wished we hadn't when I read the reviews. I don't know what people expect for their money. We had a great deal. Reception was busy when we arrived at 2pm. However guests were checked in quickly efficiently and wth a smile by 2 young staff. We were allocated a room on the 5th floor.... More
