We decided to go to Europe for our December holiday at the very last minute and were very fortunate to find accommodation in Salzburg's Old Town over New Years Eve and New Year's. The location of the pension could not have been better - it is close to absolutely everything worth seeing in Salzburg, but situated in a quite street... More

We spent 3 nights at this hotel over Christmas - two adults, two kids. We had a great room with lots of space - an entry room, one large room with a double bed and sofa and connecting 2nd room with double bed and sofa. The main plus is the location - it's a minute walk to the Motzartplatz square.... More

Beautiful and charming building, great location in the old city but don't expect a personal welcome. We "met" our hostess over the lobby phone and there was no assistance to our rooms, including hauling heavy suitcases up steep curving stairs. The room was lovely and spacious, with the biggest bathroom of our entire trip. Breakfast was delicious and service was... More

We stayed here in 1996 and loved the 900 year old building and the friendly, talkative hostess. We stayed again March 2011 and while we still appreciated the location and building, and the large room suited the needs of our family (couple and two girls, 13 and 9), we were a bit disappointed from last time. The room was updated... More

What a convenient location! The rooms are large, the bathrooms immaculate, and the breakfast varied and filling. The quiet at the end of the day was welcome and the many eating and shopping establishments close by made this a real find. Now, the caveat---no lift! We were 4 women of "a certain age" and hauling suitcases up 3 flights of... More

This was the abslute worst place we syaed in Europe on our two week trip. When we arrived no one to greet us or check us in our room. Never did meet the woman who is supposed to be the owner/ manager. The first ( and last ) night wee had no heat in our room. The next morning the... More

We stayed at Pension Chiemsee in late November. Its location is fantastic. However, parking is a problem, but that is the case in all of the old city of Salzburg. There was a pay lot just behind the hotel (one block), but it is 20 Euros a day. I would suggest pulling into the lot to drop bags, but pass... More

The location is fantastic for exploring Salzburg. We stayed during the European football championships, and we watched the semifinal games on the huge outdoor screens nearby. I can't guess how much ice cream we ate at the place two doors down. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go, and we could conveniently stop by our HUGE room. We had... More

We booked through the TI at the train station. We had look in the internet and did not find anything reasonable. For the price this was a clean basic room in a Pension. The lady was very frindly and the breakfast reasonable for a Pension. Unless the dollar gets stronger, we problably stay here again as other choices were not... More
