The rooms were gorgeous-- lots of charm. Ours had a bathroom built into a wardrobe-- well planned and executed. It's a great place to bring your pet along-- the hotel is magnificent with pets. The restaurant is fantastic. The duck is not to be missed. The location is fantastic for exploring the sweet little village.

We stayed here as part of a self guided Danube bike ride. The beautiful surrounding, building, grounds, pool and terrace dining was beyond our wildest imagination for our cycling activity. A wonderful hotel, excellent restaurant and fantastic staff Since I spent several weekends at this hotel I decided to come there with my company. The organisation was perfect, especially the food in the restaurant was perfect. Also my vegetarian guests where highly contended - the choice and quality of food was amazing.

We took the train from Vienna to Krems and then the bus to Durenstein. Total trip time about 1 1/2 hours. Easy to do and worth traveling this way as you get to see the countryside along the way. Old Germanic castle on the banks of the Danube, perfect! We had a family (3 generations) trip and we stayed for a night (wish we had stayed longer) We booked the family apartment and it was large enough for 2 families. Great service, excellent food, the Terrace dining room overlooked the Danube. Good breakfast, nnice pool and spa.
