Room was good size, clean and reasonably priced, breakfast was fine with a varied choice. There is a tram stop outside the hotel but the walk to the centre is only 10-15 minutes.The hotel is close to Liseberg Amusement Park, Ullevis Stadium & Universeum. Ideal base for a stay in Gothenberg.

We never pulled the curtains, the view was just so splendid from 12th floor room! Never knew the rooftops could look so beautiful in the moonlight. Good room, perfect shower and bathroom. Breakfast and dinner fully ok. Parking full, so used extremely expensive space across the road.

This is positioned 300m or so from the main Gothenberg city 'avenue', so location is perfect. Price was ok for Sweden (but crazy expensive from a uk point of view). Stayed for 3 nights, mostly struggling to get online. There is supposedly a free internet at the hotel. It worked somewhat for the first day and a half at the room. At the bar/restaurant - miserable wifi performance. In the breakfast room - no wifi. Smoke signals would actually be faster way to communicate. Decent fitness but small, ok sauna.... More

This is a great place to be. Great view of the city. stunning view. Close to everything: Scandinavium, Swedish exibitionhall, both Ullevis (stadiums) the trams stops outside and its a 10-15 minute walk from the central station. Across the street is also a cinema palace.

Stayd one night at the top floor we had a supirior room with a fantastik view over a snowy and cold Gothenburg. Perfect situated for downtown and kungsports avenyn or across the steget to Scandinavium, Swedish exibitionhall, Liseberg, both Ullevis, and the tram stops just outside. Across the street is also a cinema palace. Could you ask for more?

Rooms are clean, but very small and not inviting. I would recommend if you are going to have meeting at the place, for convenience is ok. If I would go in holiday I would look for a hotel with larger rooms. Food is ok and many options.

Scandic Hotel Opalen is a nice hotel, in the central part of Gothenburg. We had a room on the penthouse floor and had a great view over the sportarena Ullevi. The breakfast buffe was big and it was no problem to get glutenfree bread.
