Fomule 1 Malmo is budget hotel located a bit out of the city center. It is a fair 20-25 min. walk to the center. It doesen't really offer good value for money since accommodation in Sweden is very pricey already, but there are not so many options in Malmo. The rooms are basic and simple decorated. Heating was working fine since we were there in mid-December. The staff was friendly and booked us a taxi at 4 am in the morning to the airport. There is a close supermarket nearby and a McDonalds in case you are just in transit. All in all, was ok!

Got unlucky and got a room with broken ventilation: loud and barely working. No towels no soap and broken shower. Did find several hair in my bed and once complaining the teen staff told me to deal with it since there was no other room avaiable. Breakfast was not included and really expensive for what it was. Go to the fast food next door instead. If you find yourself driving across europe stop at the Ibis in Lübeck for best cheap stay. Avoid this hotel, will never return.

Being staying first time in Formula 1 hotels, the experience is very unique for me. Since we get into the hotel during afternoon, as they said...no one was available to accommodate us....but using the same credit card for booking...we can use the machine located outside, which will allocate the room for us and then within no time you are in your room. The toilets are common...push type button for the showers (experienced first time for the shower), seen it in wash but not on shower!! Expect what you pay!!!

Yeah this was typical Formule 1, they are all the same. Room was tiny but clean and comfortable, there was a tv. We did not have breakfast so I cannot judge. Location is better when you come with car, not very nice for walk-ins like us. But it was fine.

I made the bad decision to stay here one night after a long drive from Holland. This is the worst place I ever stayed in! As a drive from England to Sweden cost quite a lot we decided to go for something on the cheap side, since nothing is cheap in Sweden there wasn't much of a choice and this was it. We arrived late at night and it felt like we entered some kind of rehab place. It was dirty, stains everywhere and a smell that almost made my stomach turn. Some electrical sockets were hanging off the wall. We entered the room and literally fell into bed, it was that small. It smelled dirty, like an ashtray. I didn't even want to be barefoot in this room. There wasn't any night light, just a fluorescent lamp that you could turn the other way to get light for the sink area. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows thin and I don't think I slept more than an hour that night because of the stench, we left the window open for a while but there was quite a lot of traffic and McDonalds just outside our window. It was like being between a rock and a hard place. I avoided the showers after seeing the state of them! They smelled like pee and there was pubic hair all over the place! It was bad enough to use the toilet, luckily it had just been clean but it still smelled quite bad and it was just like being inside an airplane lavatory. I just wanted to leave this awful place as soon as possible! I won't recommend this place to anyone for as long as I live! Check other options instead of losing your money on this flophouse!

pros: rooms are clear, comfortable beds, very useful sink inside the room, nearby there are some big supermarkets and big bus station (Varnhem). The bathrooms are shared but they are enough for the floor, bed linen are included in the price and small towels too (which is very uncommon for Scandinavian middle-level hotels) cons: the main is the location - it is away from the Malmo center. TV in the room has only Swedish channels, no wi-fi in rooms.

Ok the hotel is 'budget' (although not that cheap in absolute terms) but once you have paid 50 kr to rent towels, paid 75 kr *per day* for internet access and you factor in the inconveniences of broken lights, toilets with no toilet paper, blocked drains, broken shower heads, the fact that the room card deactivates every day and you have to queue to reactivate it in reception, the paper-thin walls meaning that children running up and down the corridors cause you to physically bounce around in your bed (and you can hear them screaming as if they were in your room)... it begins to feel like bad value. Should be a lot cheaper given what is on offer.

By far the worst 'hotel' I've ever stayed in. When we arrived, it was almost like the hotel was an old peoples home with zombies walking around the corridors. The best surprise was when we got to our rooms. My room had a carpet that was covered in stains and smelt ridiculously bad. When I pulled back the bed sheets I was met with an array of pubic hairs and further down the bed what I can only describe as discharge and human blood. When I told the cleaners of this they said they would sort it but when I re-entered my room, I found that they had just remade the bed and hadn't dealt with the problem. The toilet/shower areas were also covered in blood and God knows what else. In the middle of the night, my group (even though we were probably not the quietest either...) were awoken to the sound of an old couple screaming the hotel down and having a full blown domestic. For the good of your health, do not stay here.

I stayed here in Dec 2010 and several times before that. The rooms are all identical, sparse double bed with bunk and basic TV in one corner, washbasin in the other. Good soundproof/insulated window. Showers and WCs are external to the rooms, in the corridors, made me think of facilities on board ship - but they all work OK with no frills. When I stayed, the room doors opened with a code number given to you on arrival. Breakfast (cereal, tea/coffee/juice/fruit) is an extra charge. Next door to a petrol station and McDonalds, so some basic amenities are available. It's a 5 minute walk to the bus station at Värnhem, and the Entre shopping mall is also there, so better facilities are within reach. Catch a bus to one of the stations (Triangeln, Central) if you need to. There is an ATM on the walk down to the bus station and in Entre, maybe also at the petrol station (can't recall exactly). You would not stay here just for comfort, but if you really need a place to stay in town, or are on a tight budget then this is good value - for Sweden !

This was very basic, but suited our needs perfectly as an overnight stop. It was close enough to the centre, allowing us to do a quick tour of Malmo and recoup after our flight, before holidaying in another part of Sweden. The room was surprisingly quiet for its location, with little overnight traffic noise The garage next door sold basics we had left behind (toothbrush/shampoo) and snacks. The showers were good and hot.
