Our group of 5 stayed at the lodge on October 13th, while on a 3-day cycling tour. Of our 3 rooms, 2 of them had non-functioning showers. Fortunately there was an extra 'public' shower room we could use. This was a bit of a rustic spot, but best place to stay in Carrick, which is very tiny. Our breakfast was... More

Many people come to Ireland and visit the Cliffs of Moher, but hidden up in County Donegal is Sliabh League, Irelands highest sea cliffs. On a fine day the views are breathtaking and for those with a sense of adventure plus a good level of fitness a trak across the mountain and over one man's pass is a must. After... More

Absolutely breathtaking sights from the top in every direction. They are pretty impressive and the walk is long but well worth it. It was pretty windy when we were there. If you park on the traveled road and not the access road, the climb is longer. If you're not used to the hike, be careful of the hike down, your... More

I am terrified to write this review for fear that the Slieve League will become the Cliffs of Moher! To the Donegal council-PLEASE do no more to develop this wonderful natural site! That said-this is a must see! We drove to the top f- half the adventure is getting there (with limited signs along the way, tiny roads, and then... More

As said by ALL previous reviewers Slieve League is a MUST see in Ireland. Yes - one can escape the relative touristy tackiness and obscene parking charges of the Cliffs of Moher if one comes here. We were staying in the Donegal area (Ardeevin B&B) and our hosts kindly suggested we go here. Thank goodness we did. The drive is... More

After reading reviews for Slieve League and Cliffs of Moher, we decided to head to Donegal to avoid the large barricades, admission price, and tour buses. We couldn't have been happier. The cliffs were stunning and we were 2 of only 10 people visiting on a beautiful spring morning in late March. The cliffs are just over 600 m tall... More

My wife and I having taken up Hillwalking decided to make the trip to southwest Donegal to visit Slieve League or Sliabh Liag to have a look at the cliffs and scenery. We went up from Dublin on the Friday and left on the Tuesday and did lots of cliff walks on the Peninsula. Slieve League Cliffs themselves are awesome... More

This place may be out of the way, but is well worth the visit. First of all, it is rugged beauty at best. The windy roads to get to Slieve League were awesome to drive. Once on site, there is a gate - which we didn't realize we could open and drive through.....we opted for the 3k walk, up and... More

Spent the day here and was gobsmacked by the views. Walked out on a piece of land and realised that there was a huge cliff below me. Scary if you do not like heights! High above the waves and had seagulls crying beside me, worried I was going to touch thier nests on the cliff face. Not a chance! Ran... More

This was one of our last stops on the way back our hotel in Letterkenny after a long day of hiking and driving to several coastal sites. Slieve League is perhaps the best site we visited that day, and well worth it. I am glad we decided to go as we were considered skipping it. We have been to the... More
