Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our second visit to these lovely apartments and I have to say it's better than ever. Alex is an exceptional host and nothing is too much trouble for him. All of the rooms are spotlessly clean and cannot be faulted. You can be sure we will be back there soon

Arrived at 3am, dropped off at top of road and told to walk down the road. No signs and no one about to ask. I rang the rep who wasn’t best pleased and made it sound as if I was to blame. Eventually found the room and wish I hadn’t ! 2 single beds, very hard. At one point we tried to turn the mattress and all the wooden slats were all over the place and the under side of mattress was stained. We were self catering, 2 cups, 2 glasses, 2 plates, 2 dishes,2 knives, forks, spoons, 1 saucepan and 1 frypan. No cooking utensils. 2 ring stove and 1 kettle. None of it was clean. The cupboard containing pots was also the only cupboard suitable for storing food. The cupboard under sink was revolting. Bathroom smelt badly of sewage. Shower curtain clung to your body as you showered and water went over side of cubicle and flooded floor. Not enough room to sit on toilet as hemmed in by shower and hand basin. Decent balcony. Air con 50 euros per week. H r to be out of room at 10am on last day and charged 30 euros to keep room. As our flight was after midnight we had no choice but to pay. Alex the owner is not the nicest guy. In fact I found him very rude. When I asked for Wi-Fi, only available at pool bar, be actually took my phone from my hand and entered code himself. We didn’t spend time at pool as we like the beach, the people who did so seemed to be part of Alex’s fan club. They mostly seemed repeat Brits. Sheets changed once during week we were there and we had to ask for clean towels. Loads and loads and even more loads of reading books in foyer and at bottom of stairs. I could go on but you get general impression. St George’s itself has a beautiful beach and clean shallow sea, very child friendly. It has some lovely bars and restaurants. It is though run down with a lot of empty buildings. The prices for food and drinks are very reasonable. I would not go again and definitely would not stay at these apartments. Olympic Holidays should hang their beads in shame sending people to stay here. STAY AWAY

What a brilliant place. Alex is an excellent host. He cooks some lovely food and makes you feel like family. The hotel is clean and tidy, and all you have to do is ask if you need something. The hotel is just off the main strip, central and convenient to the beaches, restaurants, and bars and some scenic views. All you could want.

Just returned from Alexander beach, loved it! Clean though a little tired the hotel revolves around Alex who on first impression may seem a little intimidating but fear not he's a great guy, knows all his guests by name and is a great raconteur! (And pretty decent cook!) It appeared most of his guests were returnees as we will be! Thanks for all your help Alex see you next year!! Peter & Ruth

Been home a week now and have been thinking how i can be fair in what i say here: I'm keeping somethings to myself and hope i come across fair. HOTEL: Pros: Quiet Location, Just down a small lane from main road. Great pool, Perfect size for location and perfect for a dip when it's a hot day. Close to Amenities, Two Supermarkets 20 yards down on main road and cater for everything you need. Restaurants, beach and shops in close distance. Snacks & drinks available (cash only) Free Wifi (need to ask) Air Con available ( 50 Euros for the week) Cons: Rooms basic and dated ( or typically Greek) Air Con only allowed when in rooms ( i left on accidently when i went out one night and Alex came in my room and turned it off) Only one pillow on bed ( found out more are kept in the wardrobe at the bottom of the staircase) No toaster or microwave provided. Shower is very small and takes a good few minutes to get warm. ST.GEORGE SOUTH: Charming area with it's little church and quirky houses. Beach front restaurants that you can dine at and over look the sea as the sun sets.. just beautiful. Little coves during the day you can sun bath as the sea laps at your feet. Beautiful food.. Beautiful People and lovely memories.

My friend and I stayed here in in the middle of September for two weeks. We travel together but stay in separate studios. The studios were spotless but tired AND believe it or not when we opened the cupboards and drawer the equipment left was for one person...one knife, one spoon, one fork etc., even though these studios are for two people. It is the first time ever I have arrived at a studio to find this and down to only one pillow and the second bed not made !!! As I said the place is spotless but basic and dated. Alex is there from morning to night. He will help in any way he can but has a manner which can be mistaken, he also has people who have been returning for years and don't go any further than the pool and this leads to the ' newbies ' considering themselves left out. This, I think is not the case., BUT I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of him. St. George South is one long strip of supermarkets, tavernas and bars. It is over 1 kilometre to the main beach, ( long and sandy but with a shelf to get into the sea, not so easy for non-swimmers )from the apartments and just under 1 kilometre to the smaller beach. The road leading to both is flat. There is very little to do in St. George South other than the beach and bars and tavernas. The bus to Corfu runs once a day, about 10.00a.m. and returns late afternoon. There are plenty of tour operators if you wish to see the island , somewhere in the resort every night you will find somewhere with Greek dancing happening. St. George South is a nice resort, Alexander Beach Hotel needs some updating. Would I return to either....no.

Alex was brilliant with our toddler and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms are clean and the pool is refreshing after a hot day. No complaints and a great place for families to stay.

This apartment needs shut down its not suitable for hosting as its so outdated and Alex is a horrible man with split personality there is no aircon included in price u get a 2 ring hob nd a kettle its shocking and the beds are like stone to lay on also there is bedbugs. Alex turns of the wifi if u don't sit at the bar nd spend your money at his bar nd pool he does everything with a horrible attitude never felt so unwelcome in all my life would honestly not give no good rating to this accommodation at all. Its such a horrible place to stay he is so abrupt to his customers. His attitude stinks this place needs updating to be suitable for public use the place smells of sewage. From morning til night there is no shampoos or body wash provided there is no fresh linen given same bedding for the whole stay same with towels and for the price we was charged it should be included and we are in self catering but there is no way u can use the two ring hob to cook on the kettle inside was disgusting the bathroom was also disgusting sewage coming up thru the drain once toilet or shower or sink was used I'd defo avoid this place at all costs and for Olympic holidays u should be ashamed of yourself for recommending this as a holiday place. Alex you need to buck up your ways and make guests feel welcome and to do what they ask with a humble attitude not run of with a long face nd mumble to yourself for a man of your age u need to smarten up your ways . After covid u should be making geusts feel at ease to be living life again and to make them feel your home is there home. Never again will I stay at this accommodation. I mean even the others who have hotels and villas are speaking about Alex himself how horrible he is to his guests . Once u say to them what your apartment is they look at you to say wow your brave staying there ... this place is hell please avoid at all costs

We have just returned from a week away in corfu at the alexander beach hotel, what a lovely little place this is, the host Alex works so hard at everything he does and nothing is any trouble to him. Very clean rooms, everything you need for self catering. Pool and bar area are lovely, always a Sunbed available with no problem, food lovely, beer on tap is very well kept and plenty of other drinks available. Close to beach, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Walked up to the lake area one day and up to the lovely village up the hill another. Beach days were lovely on the soft sand beach with Cristal clear water. Pool days enjoyable too at the hotel. Will definitely be returning as do a lot of Alex’s customers, wouldn’t stay anywhere else .
